Tales from the MMP - Influencing The Market

'Bout time the real 'Hawks showed up last night.

I spent a few hours working in PowerPoint yesterday, which I’ve hardly ever used before. Kinda fun. I’m the PPT Master now.

Alrighty, off to Sweating With the Soccer Moms at the gym, then lunch with some friends.

**Twix **- I think I speak for the entire MMP community when I say that nobody else “heard” any attack in CP’s post. You’re the Mod and it’s your call, but… I respectfully submit that you blew this one.

Dude, wasting this line on a happily married woman is, well…, a waste. :stuck_out_tongue:
Happy Picuversary, BTW

Keee-yute!
Also (assuming you’re not lying about the lookalikedness)… how you doin’?
(yes, I know – flirting. Married women. Waste. See above… So sue me :D)

Bolding mine – does that mean, perhaps, that we’re (essentially) neighbors?* 'Cos that would be cool!
Also, you can keep all the milk and bittersweet chocolate to yourself, but I’m calling dibs on any white chocolate you have lying around…

  • “Neighbors”, in case you didn’t get it from looking at my “Location” field, meaning Are you by any chance in the same Hebrew-speaking, Middle Eastern country that I’m in?

Back in the mountains we called it “feeding the raccoons”.

Unless you are Swampbear - in which case you bypass the blurfs and leap straight out of bed singing “Oh What a Beautiful Morning” and dancing into your clothes.
Happy Picuniversary!

So who do you think has the cup this year?

And have the hubby lick it off? Sounds like a good way to celebrate the Picuversary!

Tax season ain’t over, here, it’s barely started. I tried to file my yearly income tax online, but I need either set A or set B of electronic ID - for some reason, neither set C nor set D (the ones acceptable for both my quarterly VAT and my quarterly income tax withdrawal) are ok. Requested an appointment for the Tuesday after election Sunday, which was the earliest opening. I’ve got all the numbers numbered, have to print them out. Hopefully I won’t get a Moron Tax Person this time, but if I do, hey: anything for which (s)he wants “a proper receipt”, (s)he’ll have to tell me what concepts exactly, I go print out the receipts (which I get from the bank’s webpage anyway, I’m as paper-free as they come) and then (s)he can use them to make paper carnations for all I care.

I just got a mail re a job in Saudi Arabia, one of those for which you have to begin by figuring out what all the TLA mean and, once you do, you discover they want someone who is willing to do the work of 3 people . And in the summer, in Saudi Arabia… if I happened to be interested, my first request would be “my own air-conditioned heliport-sized umbrella and someone to carry it for me”.

Oh my!

I am deeply sorry, but I am quilting incapable. My mother tried to teach me for years, but I have the attention span of a gnat. I have done the ragdoll quilts where the seams stick up and are all frayed looking – mainly because you can innocently proclaim, “It’s meant to look that way!” Other than that, I am a weaver and a haphazard sewer, an embroidered and a cross-stitcher, a beader and a decopagerer (help, I can’t stop spelling that word), and inveterate trier of cool looking things on the interwebs.

I say “Go for it!”

but Soapy knows I’m biased

Stop that.

Ruble has been peekin’ in my windows!

Howdy Y’all! Home from irk and chillaxin’ ‘til Agape time. I have grapes! I hae red wine! I even have Welch’s Grape Juice which I thought kinda appropriate bein’ as it began as an alternative non-alcohol substitute for Communion wine. I’m just full of fun facts today, ain’t I!

Good grief, there’s a major-league tree orgy in my little corner of the world. I don’t recall seeing so much pollen since we left FL, but then my memory…

Day 7 of being boss is done. Two more to go. And I actually got to do some non-boss stuff by answering a question about a facility of interest and providing imagery of same. Go me! Yeah, it’s as dull as it sounds, but that’s my job and I’m always glad to have a chance to do it.

It’s in the 80s and I’ve got a couple of ceiling fans going. I’ve mowed the little bit of back yard that grew, just in case it decides to rain today. And since I kept the doggies separated all day, I didn’t have any pee and poo to clean up, so yay for that!

I’m going to make a broccoli/mushroom/onion quiche for supper. Luckily, those go together fast, so I have a little time to surf. Other than that, just another freekin’ day in paradise.

C’mon, Firday!!!

I cut paper with my mom’s pinking shears once when I was a SpazKitten.

Please note that it took divine intervention to ensure that I lived to see this day.

Thank you, Swampy, for the more in-depth explanation of the Agape Supper. It actually sounds like a great time, so I hope y’all have a good time tonight.

One of my cousins is multi-talented in crafts and specializes in quilts. She just finished one called “Chain Gang” that is very artistically done–it looks multi-dimensional to me. It’s gorgeous! I did NOT get that gene, however.

They took the hard drive from my computer at work, since I’d clicked on the site that had some probable malware. :frowning: So now I’ve got a new HD, without most of my stuff on it. I’ve had a very frustrating day, and honestly need to rest for a bit now that I’m home. So glad that tomorrow is Thursday (although I do wish it were Friday, truth be told!!).

I’d love to go to a Seder one day!

Haven’t caught up, busy day but had to come share: it’s been a schadenfreude-filled day. I saw someone run smack into one of the big support posts at work this morning. She was looking at her phone and not where she was going and just face first into the post. I did feel bad, although she wasn’t hurt, just embarrassed that people saw her do that. But it was *slightly *funny in a Three Stooges kind of way. Then this afternoon we watched an interviewee in his suit walk all the way around the outside of the building, looking for the entrance. It isn’t clearly marked so it really isn’t fair to expect someone to know where the door is. But it was funny to see him appear at the second group of windows, right when we expected him to, after walking around our whole wing. He still had 3 other wings to walk around before getting to the front door. Poor guy. It’s been that kind of day.

Quiches are half done - they’re in the sit-in-the-closed-over-for-30-minutes phase. Much yum will ensue. I made broccoli-mushroom-onion with swiss and parmesan. mmmmmmm

Daughter went to The Oz Museum with her friend. Hope they took pictures.

That’s all. Time to read Dear Abby.

Pot roast is in the pressure cooker, though I don’t think I’m in the mood for dinner. Teenage son, post golf practice, will make up for my loss of appetite, I’m sure.

The quiche was great! And I’m now showered and ready for bed. Gonna take Cozmo down to his dungeon, then head off to dreamland myself.

MWAH!!

Soapy pressure cooker??? I was traumatized as a cub when my grandmother’s pressure cooker full of chickens exploded. Chickens all over the ceiling! Ok, chickens on the ceilin’ was funny, but still, da Bear is all  about pressure cookers. I do not own one. I will not use one. Don’t give me that they’re so much safer these days line. Pressure cooker =!!!111

The Agape Supper was a resoundin’ success. Much good food. Much good wine. YP did his usual good job with his sermon/talk re Early Christianity and Agape Suppers. Plus, when it was over, clean up ensued with ease. Folks pitched in with very little urgin’ from the head of the kitchen committee. Who is that you ask? Why… li’l ol’ me! Yeah, Vestry members are required to be the “head” of church committees. Mine are kitchen and ushers. We kitch and ush real good.

And on that note… nitey nite Y’all!

Swampy…

BOOM!!!

Thanks everyone, I was feeling pretty much back to normal today. I’d been fighting a bad headache for over a week, so it was just a matter of time before it knocked me all the way down.

All hell broke loose at work yesterday, no thanks to our dumb-assed higher headquarters. My co-worker and supervisor had to stay until 9:30 last night. Before noon tomorrow, I have to ensure 31 critical initiatives are properly written up and ready for my co-worker to insert in our Business Plan tool. It’s a really long story, but the short version is we were told we wouldn’t have to do them if our plan was submitted on time. OUr plan was submitted on time, but our HQ sat on it for two weeks and then called yesterday with a regally snotty attitude.

Bottom line, we sent out the initiatives and their status (red, amber or green) to those responsible and had to give them a suspense of noon tomorrow. The recipients were royally pissed and I can’t blame them. We’ve received six of them, but I have to ensure the rest are in before I leave at noon tomorrow for a nearly six hour drive across the state for my son’s campus visit to the college he’s attending. Those initiatives, in addition to all the other stuff I must have finished. I plan to go in early.

I guess that qualifies as “Chicken Surprise”.
