Sorry, it’s just that my fabric scissors are starting to get dull…

[/QUOTE]

I can’t help with missing scissors, but if the dull ones are Gingher, I can at least offer the advice to send them to Gingher for sharpening. It’s been my experience that leaving scissors at the fabric store for sharpening results in scissors that have been dragged across a grinding wheel, but for probably less money and not much more time, Gingher will practically recondition them - they’ll be sharp as the day they were born, balanced and no sticking spots. For this amazing service, they charge something like $7.00, and that includes postage to get them back to you.

PS: Once you get them sharpened, don’t let anyone (including yourself!) cut anything other than fabric and thread with them. Paper (even that thin tissue patterns are made of) is murder on blades.

Good morning all, and happy Hump day! Two down, three to go…well, two to go after today.

A belated Happy Picuversary! and a cheer for TomKitten sleeping through the night (I hope he made it okay again last night, poor little thing…er, poor LiLi and Mr. Lissar too, though …). Happy vacation to BooFae, who I think leaves tomorrow.

I put some aloe vera from an aloe plant on my thumb and it’s working pretty good. I’ll be glad when the weekend is here, though. Better finish caffeinating so that I can go to work. Happy Wednesday all!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 70 degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 90. We might get some rain even.

CP you may be the first recipient ever of a Mod wrist slap in a MMP. Think of the honor!

I don’t post for most of a day and y’all get uber chatty. Maybe I should take that as a sign…

Tonight we have an Agape Supper at the church house. Should be good and I’m lookin’ forward to it.

That’s all I got for now. Yays, boos, hugs, gropes, nougies, smooches, trouts, chitlins, how you doin’s all around as needed.

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence.

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Blurf.

That is all.

We have a huge decision to make this week. I don’t think my cuticles can take it. I wear my anxiety on my hands, and my cuticles are all picked at.

Sorry for being cryptic. :frowning:

Ivory, the answer to that is to start drinking. No one notices a messed up liver.

What is about English iconicty that makes ‘blurf’ sound rear-end related?

I was the subject of a Mod weenie whackingmeself yesterday, so you’re in good company.

You need to read the whole thread to get the context, but the action starts at #25.

If the term was rear end related, it would be braaaaaaaaaaaaaap instead.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Up, caffeinated, rosie’s sig to all!

Happy hump day!

A little blurfy here too. I woke up at 3:00 and tried to go back to sleep, then Mr Rebo’s alarm went off at 4:00. At 4:30 I got up. :frowning:

I’m getting hungry, but I don’t know what to eat. I don’t feel like cooking anything or cereal.

Swampy, I’m interested in more info on the Agape supper. How does it work at St. Patrick’s? Is it a potluck, or will the food be cooked up and offered to anyone who shows up? Wikipedia says it originated in the early days of the church and interprets it as a “love feast,” but I’m not too sure what exactly that means! LOL Somehow I have trouble picturing Episcopalians sitting down to a love feast, which brings up hippies and the 70s in my mind. In all seriousness, though, it does sound a bit like the free Langar that is offered in many Sikh gurudwaras around the world: a meal served to any and all, for free.

I’m having mango, banana and cottage cheese. Tasty!

ETA: Herbs- that’s interesting about the feast. The Passover Seder, which we recently had, is also supposed to be open to all who are hungry.

I presented myself for torture on Monday and still carry the marks today. I’m allergic to some stinging insects, so I got tested.
She stuck tiny needles under the skin on my arms. They are supposed to be little bubbles of bee spit, but, as usual, I didn’t cooperate. I bled at every site. I have 20 pea sized bruises on my arms. I look like a junky.
And because the blood diluted the bee spit, the test was negative, so I have to go back in a month and go through the same torture.

I also had to give up 4 big tubes of blood to do serum titers too.

Poor me.:frowning: (That’s a joke, I’m really fine, just frustrated.)

Bee spit? Wouldn’t it be easier just to rub honey all over yourself at home?
:p;)

Stop that Bobbio. Bad boy.

Hello mumpers!

Taters, really hope you’re feeling better by now. Having Teh Sick is never fun.

LiLi - yay for TomKitten sleeping all night!

Welcome noobie, you’ll pick it up soon enough…

Well, it’s been a mixed week so far. Remember the burglary? The police rang on Monday evening to say that the police one county over have recovered the stolen safe with our personal documents still in it. We won’t get them back for a couple of weeks as they need to do forensics first but it’s good to know that our stuff isn’t being used for nefarious purposes.

On the down side, remember my friend whose step-son has been in a coma since before christmas? Sadly the young lad passed away on Tuesday. It wasn’t unexpected and in some ways it is a relief for them all but it is still a tragic waste of a life.

Back on the up side, we’re off to Hungary tomorrow for a visit to our friends, and 'im indoors has just been offered a 3-month extension on his contract. And when we come back from Hungary, the insurance company’s door people will be fitting our super-strong new back door.

Sliding back down again, I had to go to the eye hospital this morning because my peeper’s poorly. Luckily it’s a corneal scratch rather than an ulcer so I have some OTC medication and it should be all better in a day or two.

Whew! I need a drink. Oh, how fortunate! It’s pub night!

You nailed it Herbs, we’re just a buncha dirty, tree huggin’ hippies!

Here’s the wiki on Agape Feasts or Suppers. It is in theory a meal open to all, as in somebody could just wander in and would still be fed. It ends with Holy Communion. At good ol hippie, tree huggin’ St. Pat’s, people are asked to sign up if attending and also to bring food or drink. We typically ask if those attending will also list what they are bringing so we’ll know kinda what to expect and to see if other stuff is needed. For example, I’m bringing wine tonight but YP called me yesterday to ask if I could pick up some grapes because nobody had listed grapes and well, grapes are one of those kinda Middle Eastern type foods. So I got some red seedless grapes cause, well, I like ‘em and the sto’ had ‘em on special. We usually have an abundance of food and good attendance. We do this during Holy Week and at some point durin’ Advent. We like bein’ dirty, tree huggin’ hippies more than once a year.

Oh and howdy y’all from East Albeeeeeeny Medical Center!
