Tales of Michigan MMP

OK, in response to an ever dwindling number of requests, here are some pics. It’s still dusty down there, hence the “snowflakes” in some of the photos. The closet is now ready for the shelves and clothes rods and stuff. Maybe we can do that tomorrow.

Supper has been et, dishwasher has been loaded, and as soon as I post this, I’m gonna fill my daughter’s massaging foot bath thingy. I have one, too, but I don’t know where it is in the mess that is the small bedroom. After all the work this weekend, my feet are what hurt the most.

Wow, that bedroom is GREEEEEEEEEEEEEEN!! A bit overpowering for me, and I like green. Hm, although lavender/purple whatever that color is, isn’t really my thing, it doesn’t look as bad as I thought it would.

Frankly, I can’t wait to see it all put together. Maybe that’ll tone things done somewhat. It’s hard to tell when it’s empty. I’m sure your daughter must have a vision of what she thinks it’s going to look like.

I ended up eating orange slices and a mini-bell cheese wheel for my lunch. Not surprisingly, I’m still somewhat hungry.

FCM, wow, the apartment looks great - although some of those colors are ahem a bit bright  ! The lavender bath is very pretty, imho. You folks have done a wonderful job there, though. Um… when the kids move out, can I move in, please?

Daughter and I got up early and made our way to Tar-jhay; the entrance fee wasn’t too bad, cause we needed most of the stuff. Then we stopped at a local restaurant for breakfast, something we hadn’t done in a very long time. My daughter had an omelet w/home fries and biscuit; I had one egg, a short stack and bacon. It was all delicious. Then I stopped at Safeway for a few things and we were home by 12:30 PM. Oops, I forgot - we also stopped at Aldi to get a few things; I was finally able to get a big bag of shredded colby jack cheese there. For some reason, the colby/jack mix has been hard to find lately.

I’m sad to say that the rest of the day I just lolled about. I have started to crochet an afghan of sorts (my own thing, not following any design); it will probably take me -forever- but I’m gonna stick with it. And tomorrow it’s back to work.

Eh. Everything I do is my own thing. If I start with a pattern, I invariably give it or make so many changes to it that it’s not really the pattern anymore. :smack: I really hate patterns.

 Bright!

Hang on a sec…

 There we go.

Interesting color scheme they’ve got going.

Ummmmmm… it’ll be interesting to see how the apartment looks furnished and decorated. I do like what FCD did with that wall. That’s some intense green and blue goin’ on.

It’s been a little rainy for the past couple of hours. I wonder if that’s what’s caused me to develop a sinus headache. Methinks shortly I shall drug myself and go lie upon the bed and watch tv.

Wow…that’s quite colorful, FCM. I like the wavy edge, though.

Done painting for today. Now it’s off to buy groceries for lunches this week.

Back later, maybe…

GT

Decorating will be interesting - the love seat we’re giving them is pink.

I think what happened is they picked colors they liked without considering how they’d all look together. In any event, paint is cheap - if they tire of the scheme, they can change it.

I’ve had some medicinal ice cream and soaked my tootsies. So I’ll probably survive the night.

I’ve got some laundry to put away - I washed 4 loads today, but some is still in baskets. It’ll have to be done before we can go to bed, since the baskets are on the bed…

Is it Firday yet??

I looked through my file yesterday and realized I had a huge (17 letter) backlog for mockery purposes. It is now down to a 15-letter backlog.

One fine day there will be a website for all of this. Pray I don’t get sued. I think it falls under parody/satire.

Ummmm… yeah, interesting colours the kiddos picked there, FCM. I agree that this was probably the rookie mistake of picking a whole bunch of colours you like, without much thought about how they’ll look together. J make sure that you make them promise that they’ll be the ones repainting if they change their minds… that green is a two-coats-of-primer colour if I’ve ever seen one.

I bet you could ask swampus to provide some lessons in appropriate colour matching, if you asked real nice.

Tomorrow’s MMP is written. Look for it to go up around 7AM Eastern Time, or thereabout…

Home. The carnival was a blast. Got to see the rookies play. Took some pics, too. I cleaned the litterbox, and swept and mopped the kitchen before I left.(Sorry, Taters)

Yay for sleeping Nat!

Lunch, I’ve had 4 PTB in 6 years. That might be part of the problem.

We’re back from the wedding. GilaMonster did an excellent job with the food and flowers.

You have a 'wall of ho. ."? :dubious:

Lunch, so it’s true what they say about all work and no play! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey everyone, I’ve been reading along but haven’t had much to say. Lots of new [del]meat[/del] people lately. Hi new people!

I’m missing Haze. I can’t believe she’s not even reading along with us. Haze, come out of hiding!

I could live with almost everything BUT that green. Ye gods–the very stuff of nightmares.
I like the wavy edge, too. For some reason, I didn’t realize that you were building (essentially) an entire apartment in your basement. I thought it was just a bed and bath. No wonder you’re tired. Good god, woman–you deserve a vacation.

I am done with the playroom–I moved the daybed and the freezer to make better use of outlets and managed to get rid of one extension cord. The are rug is back in place, and the linens on the daybed are washed, dried and put back on. I still have one (smaller) area rug to wash and then I’m done.

I threw away a bunch of stuff. That always feels good. I also have a trip to Salvation Army planned, but no car. Car is waiting at repair shop to be fixed.
I plan on doing not much of anything tomorrow (the rug and running). That will be nice.

BTW, those muffins sound good. I like the pantry, too–I don’t have a pantry in this house and I hate not having one.

I have a feeling they’re going to get tired of that color scheme relatively quickly.

eta

I haven’t taken any pics yet (I haven’t left the house since I got home from Joisey) - I will tomorrow on the way home. Please don’t mark my homework late…

…ckey. Stupid Photobucket tag cutoff.

Besides, the wall of ho s is in my bedroom.

#1 son is in kitchen, making brains. I’m so tired, I didn’t even investigate, just told him to clean up after himself. I didn’t buy any brains, so he must be creating them. Or else he has some explaining to do. Off to bed soon.*

*Afterall, they’re not my brains, so why should I care?

You calling Lunch dull?

That’s some colorful apartment! What a lot of work!! Kudos.

Feeling much better today. Watching House marathon and there is no Mad Men on. pooh.

Oh well, should sleep anyway.

Nitey.

We finally had Le poulet de la mort for dinner tonight, and wow, it was yummy! Papa Tigs made a couple of small changes – he didn’t have any parsley, so substituted tarragon, but only put in half as much since it’s got a stronger flavor, and he also added some creole seasoning, although next time he should more. Anyway, it was fabulous! It will definitely be included in the regular repertoire!

We have that same toaster, Rebo, and we bought it at Sam’s, and don’t worry, it cost far less than at Best Buy. It’s a very nice toaster, we really enjoy it – well, as much as one can enjoy a toaster, obviously.

FCM, that bedroom is indeed GREEN! Apparently the young people have stronger eyeballs than old types like me. Wow! I mean, for an accent wall, that would be nice; but for a whole room?

Anyway, time to get a bit more done and then get some ZZs. After last night, I definitely need them.

Even though I’ve had my ears pierced for a zillion years, my left earlobe has decided to get a bit infected. Sheesh. Just because I don’t wear earrings every day, it decides to act stupid. So I guess tomorrow I need to go get some peroxide since I discovered, to my horror, that we have none in the house. I’m making do with antibacterial ointment – but it still hurts to put headphones on. Ouch!

See y’all in the next MMP!
