I’m pretty sure I’ve seen text bolded for emphasis, with the quoter’s notification added, many times on the board previously. This really isn’t allowed?

Sodalite’s bold italicised text was in fact new material added by Sodalite, and NOT part of the original quoted text, thus changing its content. It’s one thing to call attention to “emphasis added” in an otherwise faithful quote and another to rewrite the original to “interpret” it. S/he should have quoted faithfully THEN in her/his own post, written: “Actually, I believe it’s more like ‘There are LOADs… etc. etc. new version yadda yadda’…”
