Tall houseplant for dim spot

Hi planty dopers, I’m looking for some possible species to try in our dining room. We have a spot in the dining room, which has french doors on to the patio - you’d really expect there to be a lot more light than there actually is - which has already killed/maimed a ficus “Decora” and a false aralia - *Plerandra *(ex. Schlefflera) elegantissima. They both seemed to do well at first, new leaves, healthy looking, but then started dropping foliage.

I’m looking for something tall rather than bushy, maybe up to 5ft. I do have a lovely Monstera deliciosa nearby which is starting to climb; if I were to train it up a trellis, I might get the height I’m looking for. Now, though, it’s only 2ft tall, and wouldn’t really fill the space as I’d like.

Does it exist, a tall houseplant that can do dim lighting?

How about “Mother-In-Law’s Tongue?”

Second beowulff’s suggestion - you can’t kill those things and they will get tall with little light.

Also look for Chinese evergreens (there are many varieties), pothos vine, Boston fern (tends to grow bushy rather than tall though), and zz plants.
