Thanks for the apology. And I’m glad to see that you have offered Tamerlane an apology (more or less). (But I also hope you never pit me out of “respect.” It’s never a good thing to be pitted, even mistakenly or out of “respect.”)
However, I do think you need to examine “what the the hell you were thinking.” First, you misinterpreted **Tamerlane’s ** comment, put the worst possible spin on it, and took offense at it; then you edited my comment in a way that changed its meaning, and took offense at that.
I’ll take you on your word that your intent was not to deceive others; but you were certainly deceiving yourself as to what both Tamerlane and I were actually saying. You seem to be undertaking some self-analysis; I hope you can find out why you are so quick to take offense.
As I said before, you seem to be highly concerned that people “respect” you, but don’t seem to understand how to go about gaining it. Certainly pitting a poster like Tamerlane is not the way to go about it, not unless the offense is something major and you are absolutely sure you are in the right.
Colibri is absolutely correct. Even someone with the status of Wally M (which was nearly godlike) can be put in place when the assailant is right.
