On Tapatalk, every forum has a picture. Who’s picture represents the pit forum, and why?
I use Tapatalk and don’t see this. It does give me inline pictures in threads sometimes in place of jpg links people post. I had to check to make sure the Dope hadn’t changed its longtime policy against pictures in posts.
I assumed it just shows the most recent image posted in that forum, but I haven’t checked…
Moved to ATMB.

I don’t think it does, for instance the picture for ATMB has been the same brunette guitar player for ever. Tapatalk only shows four pictures and I don’t think any have changed since I first installed the app.
They had to come from SOMEWHERE!
For me, I see the brunette guitar player for the pit.
The guitar player has always been for the pit, but the others change up. For a long time, Great Debates was a walled gardn, seen from above, in the shape of a Star of David. Right now, it’s an old-fashioned accounting sheet. The top two are a close-up of a gorilla’s face, and a convivial-looking trio of imbibers.
The pictures aren’t on the individual forums, but on the page in-between all the options (forums, subscribed threads, private messages and so on(, and the list of the forums.
The in-thread pictures seems to be a Tapatalk feature: if you post the URL to a picture, Tapatalk shows the picture. I started a thread about it a couple of weeks ago.
Ah, here it is: Why do linked pix show up in tapatAlk but not other browsers? - About This Message Board - Straight Dope Message Board
I’ve been about to start a thread on this for a while. I’ve been trying to figure out the connection between the forum and the pictures, and I think we can all agree it is not clear.
Yeah! I’ve been wondering this too! Is that guitar player one of our members?
Can I bump this? We never got an answer. I was just noticing the pictures changed just the other day.
Does anyone know where these pictures come from?

Blonde, redhead. After a while, I don’t even see the code.
Yep, noticed the change too. An emu and Star of David. Can someone do a reverse image lookup on them ?
