One of the nice features of Tapatalk is that it will host pictures. So, if I want to upload a photo, I do not have use Flickr or Picassa etc, but simply link to the photo from my iPhone/iPad picture app and Tapatalk will embed the link and host the photo.
I tried doing that today, but I got an error message saying this feature was blocked by the forum administration.
Is that something you turn on at your end, or has it been blocked on purpose? The app has gone through a major upgrade, so maybe that was a permission that had been lost in the shuffle.
I’m fairly new to this forum, but it is apparent to me that this forum simply doesn’t allow images in messages. Not a matter of not wanting to host them on its own server; but of not wanting them displayed at all in messages, even if they are hosted elsewhere.
If it was a matter of allowing images to be displayed, but of not hosting them, then the Tapatalk feature of which you speak would work here. But that’s not what it is. It’s a matter of not allowing embedded images at all. Look at the bottom of the page, and you’ll see this:

Yes, you are correct and it’s been that way for ever here. What happens with Tapatalk is that it inserts a link, as if you’ve uploaded your image to Flickr etc and embedded the URL in your post. Rather than the link going to flickr, its the Tapatalk host. You can do it within your post in the app, eliminating multiple steps. I’ve used these feature on the app many many times. Now it doesn’t work.
