Tarantino/Rodriguez - "Grindhouse"

Let me be the first to point out that if this movie rocks–and it looks like it will–but if it does, it will be the first anthology film in the history of the planet that does not suck. Statistically speaking, the odds are against it. But I’m thinkin, unless that was the best preview ever, it has a shot to break the streak.

Seconded. Pleasepleaseplease don’t fuck this up, boys.

Damn you for raising my hopes, however momentarily!

Holy SHIT! That looks fucking AWESOME! 'Scuse me while I go rub one out, it’s too much for me right now… :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, but none of the other anthology films were directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.

It WILL rock. I’m with Cervaise here.

Ahem… Four Rooms. Mostly sucky, with a few rare decent moments spread throughout. Contains Steve Buscemi’s most annoying performance, ever.

On the other hand, I really liked From Dusk 'til Dawn, although I thought the first half was significantly better than the last.

As for Grindhouse, I’m totally stoked. Each time Tarantino and Rodriguez collaborate, the results get better and better. I’ve no doubt that this will be mind-blowing.

Wow, that looks cool. And I liked all of From Dusk Till Dawn. It was like two movies in one - a really excellent crime thriller in the frist half, which morphed into an equally excellent campy Vampire/horror spoof in the second. I thought it was great.

“Now let’s kill that F*cking band.”

Except, as pointed out above, the *WORST * anthology film of all time, Four Rooms. Bodes ill, fyask me. Still, I’m rootin.

Thank God I’m not the only one… are you old enough to remember Knightriders? He was quite the late 70’s hottie, from the Steve Perry school!

I own his episode of Scream Greats, too. It’s awesome.

And Danny Trejo works his ass off… I counted 22 projects (film & TV) in 2006-07!

Quote from his IMDB entry-

“It was the funniest thing I’d ever heard. I’d been in Soledad, San Quentin, Folsom, Vacaville, Susanville, Sierra - and here’s a guy asking ‘Can you act like a convict?’ I remember I said ‘I’ll give it a shot’”

[of on-set competition between actors] “I’ve watched so many of those kinds of things turn bad, and the last thing you want to do is compete with somebody, 'cause he might be a sore loser.”

[On being promoted from a $50/day extra to a $350/day boxing coach:] “How bad do you want this kid beat up?”

[After being told the actor might hit back:] “For $350 a day, give him a bat. I used to get beat up for free.”

I love this guy!

Nowadays Savini looks like Joe Pesci playing Tom Savini.

And he’s Rodriguez’s cousin.

are you kidding, I own knightriders. Of course, that’s motorcycle thing for me, not a Savini thing

I finally watched the trailer and it makes my pee pee hard. It looks like it could whoop a horse’s ass with my belt.

This is one movie that I might be seeing in the theater. (It’s been a while. The last one was Austin Powers 3. The next might be Borat.)

I missed it! Darn it! Youtube took the trailer down, because of copyright infringement.

I am really looking forward to this one.

On the one hand, Youtube says they removed this for copyright infringement, but on the other hand movie trailers are all over the place online and I haven’t heard of copyright issues before. I’ve seen several movie trailer threads in this very forum, so I’m thinking it’s ok to point people to an alternate source to see the trailer. If this is not kosher, mods, I apologize.

Unfortunately, yes - I am old enough to remember “Knightriders”

VCNJ~

Well, I had to ask… I’m getting sick and tired of saying something like “Oh yeah, remember such-and-such?” and getting blank stares back. I heard one the other day- “I don’t know much about Sonny Bobo except that he was mayor of Palm Springs…”

Damned kids… get off my lawn…

Sony BONO, goddammit…

OH FOR CHRIST’S SAKE!!!

SONNY fucking BONO!
(Did I at least spell “fucking” right?!?)
