Tasha Yar vs Kara Thrace...who'd win?

Pfft. Worf, physically superior to a human being, gets his ass handed to him by anyone in a jumpsuit.

She can talk tough, but that doesn’t make it so.

Kara Thrace will win, since she’s also bionic.

I’m with Oak. Tasha’s specialty is hand-to-hand combat; Kara’s is not.

Kara will stab Tasha in the neck, then casually finish breakfast.

Didn’t Tasha basically get killed by a mud puddle?

I gotta go with Kara.

I gotta go with this line of reasoning. Kara’s going to play really dirty, and not have any qualms about it. Just remember her face after sticking a knife in one of the Leobens, and then sitting down to finish dinner.

Yeah, in a knock-down, drag-out, fight for survival, my money always goes on the chick who survived being squished in the atmosphere of a gas giant planet.

Kara Thrace in the second round.

Kara could kick any starfleet ass she wanted, and eat THEM for breakfast. If there is one thing the Star Trek series could never do, it’s coreograph a convincing fight. The worst offenders were the fights between Jadzia and Worf. Jadzia was supposed to be tough, but I could never buy it.

Kara if she’s liquored up, feeling no pain. Else it’s a toss up.

You sure we can’t have mud?

When Star Trek officers want to settle a grudge, they dress up like Tron and do that silly Anbo-jytsu thing. When Galactica officers want to settle a grudge, they put on the gloves and box. Definitely Kara. Hell, I’d bet Cally could take Tasha.

Throw in Seven of Nine and the winner would be the audience.

Gaida could kick Spock’s ass, Spock could kick anyone in the Star Trek universe’s ass, and Kara Thrace can kick Gaida’s ass, therefore Kara Thrace could kick what’s her faces ass.

Battlestar Galactica = Ancient Greeks in space
Star Trek = Hippies in space

Uuless they are Cylon sleepers and shoot somebody several times in the gut.

What does it mean, “Gaida”?

Felix Gaeta. Probably Spock’s nearest analog in the BSG universe.

Okay the first time I heard this line, I treated it as a joke. "No physical training ANYWHERE that matches Starfleet. Especially it's security officers." It just drips with irony. Starfleet security exists solely to have their butts kicked by the threat of the week. Saying they have received intense training is a rather pointless statement. Kind of like when I hear about someone getting a "black belt" from one of the McDojos that will give you one in a year.

So lets look at performance. Kara took on a cylon (Six), and took a beating like a film noir detective. Yet she kept on coming. Cylons are indeed supposed to be stronger and tougher than humans, so I’m guessing that another human would be in trouble. Tasha with her Starfleet security training would perhaps get a few hits in, but Kara would smile, spit out a few drop of blood, and hand Tasha’s ass back to her giftwraped.

No contest, Kara for the knockout in the first round.

Actually, Seven of Nine is signed for the main event in my next fantasy fight thread, against an opponent that should pose a suitable challenge for her.

If we’re talking no weapons, Spock would have a hard time against Data. His only chance would be to somehow lure Data into a position where he could hit the hidden kill switch (if he even knew about it), or trap Data in an environmental hazard of some kind.

As for Gaeta kicking Spock’s ass, I don’t think so. Vulcans can take an ungodly amount of punishment compared to humans. Witness Gaeta being laid low by a measly gunshot wound, while Spock withstood a faceful of raw warp core radiation long enough to fix the Enterprise’s engines.

Hell, I’d give even odds on Spock vs. a Cylon. I’d say the Cylons are stronger but Spock is tougher.

Cite.

Battlestar Galactica by its nature is badass and Star Trek by its nature is pansy.

The point is that the weakest member of the BSG universe could kick the ass of the most badass member of the Star Trek universe.
