Cruz is all set to make a “major announcement” in Indiana today and Carly Fiorina was spotted by NBC news cameras in Indianapolis. I guess the plan is to announce her as vice president and create a singularity of unlikableness.
I take hope from the fact that they’ve shared a stage before and no one died. That we know of.
Only Cruz can make Fiorina look good.
If so, that should finish the job of completely killing his campaign. She’s not someone who is qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Presidency. I can’t imagine what he thinks she brings to the table.
Imagine Trump responding to the news by announcing she’s also his pick for VP.
What’s the current standard or average time for announcing your running mate? Seems a little presumptuous to do it this early while so far behind in delegates.
They believe Hillary is only popular because she’s a woman. They want a woman too, then there’s no reason to vote for Hillary. Same reason Palin was picked 8 years ago.
He’s thinking she’ll give him a boost with women in upcoming primaries. Delusions are a funny thing.
They do make a good couple, though. They are both so unlikable and are seemingly completely oblivious to it.

But that’s. . . that’s. . . that’s ridiculous! Even so, accepting that that is their reasoning, there’s got to be 100 Republican women who would be better picks. I suppose they could all have said, “No, I can’t go to the election with you. I have to wash my hair”.
Cruz’s immediate priority is winning Indiana and I am not sure Fiorina makes much of a difference there. Still it will give him some buzz and presumably she will campaign for him which may help a bit.
There has also been talk of Kasich as VP and I think that could have had a much bigger impact on the primary.
Let’s hold our horses here. He hasn’t announced anything, so while he may think that he must surely know announcing a running mate this early while way behind in the race would be a huge blunder. I can write Trump’s tweet now: "I guess lyin’ Ted Cruz knows the fix is in for him to steal the nomination so Indiana’s vote doesn’t matter. Already chose his running mate from one of the loser candidates. Sad. Crooked and sad.
And the inevitable attack question that’ll be all over facebook and other places;
“Does he even know which restroom she should use?”
CNN and other media are reporting it as fact, so I suspect it’s been unofficially leaked at this point.
Cruz doing this now suggests he thinks Fiorina will help in the primaries. That’s surprising to me - she’s not a compelling candidate. Where will she help? California? In a contested convention?

Fiorina’s moment in the sun during her own presidential run was when Trump’s mocking of her backfired, and she was able to (however briefly) put him on the defensive.
I’ll believe it when I see it. For now I will assume it’s a trial balloon, or trial zepplin considering how hard it’s being played.
