No doubt about that, Procrustus; but the sheer venom and nastiness directed at Cruz is (possibly) unprecedented (Perhaps Andrew Johnson and Radical Republicans, but he was already President).
With Trump it was always more of a disbelieving “I can’t believe that SOB is winning with that made-up sh**”. With Cruz it is intensely personal.

Reports that Pence is about to endorse Cruz which would be big news and could make the difference on Tuesday. I think the new few days will be the critical point of the whole primary race.
