Nope. Governor Abbott’s campaign has a video out imploring shippers tired of waiting at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach to simply take two weeks to sail over to Houston’s container ports. They’re ready and able to unload those containers.
Well, except that it takes longer than two weeks to get from LA to Houston. And, since most of the ships in question are too large for the Panama Canal, it takes LOTS longer.
Geography is not one of Governor Abbott’s strengths. Of course, it doesn’t really matter. He just hopes that his voters have never encountered a globe.
They’re Republicans. They would just resurrect the SWC minus Arkansas, and claim they are better than the SEC and the Big Ten. The big problem would be that they could only come into the US to play if all the players, coaches, and fans were vaccinated.
I saw a demo of this on Youtube…very cool tech. Where it would really work well is on the Moon for putting up orbital loads off the surface, but I digress from the thread. Anyway, cool link.
As for the OP, does it matter to any of you that the majority of Texans don’t want to leave the Union? Just curious, as many seem hell bent on giving the state away…
So you think democracy doesn’t work unless it agrees with your ideology? Why did you put “people” in quotes. Your ideology hasn’t worked out very well through most of human history. Good luck thinking the way you do.
So, that would be a ‘no’ then…you don’t care that the majority of Texans don’t want to leave the Union. And, really, this isn’t about that anyway…it’s really about states that elect people you don’t like, right? These people (‘THOSE people’) who thoughtlessly elected someone you dislike and disdain really shouldn’t have any of that choice stuff, since they were so stupid they elected people you don’t like! Out with them! Let them eat cake, or that gods awful Frito pie stuff!
