Roy Kent really is every-fucking-where: ‘Ted Lasso’ Star Brett Goldstein Meets Oscar The Grouch - YouTube
Thanks for the link.
From the trailer, it seems like Dani Rojas will have a larger role this season.
Thanks for the update. Looking forward to it.
Boy - I hope it holds up.
Too often these days, after a long wait in between short seasons, I find myself thinking, “Who was doing what?” And feeling the new season didn’t live up to my hopes/expectations/recollections.
I wasn’t thrilled w/ the Asian coach turning all evil, so I hope that isn’t too dominant of a story line.
I think that his redemption arc will be a huge part of the season.
From the still picture ads it will be the story line. Which only makes sense since the entire season 2 set that up.
Just got a message on my Iphone saying “Ted Lasso returns - start your rewatch.”
Fuck that! I enjoyed the first 2 seasons, but it was just a TV show. They take years off between seasons and then assign me freaking HOMEWORK to do before the next season?! I’m better off only discovering a show late in its run, where I don’t have to wait years between seasons. The short seasons and long waits really causes my interest to wane.
I’m looking forward to rewatching the first two seasons. The first time through I was hard-pressed to keep up with all the dialog, even with closed captioning turned on. This time I’m sure I’ll catch things I missed before.
It’s 8 extra months. Meh.
But do yourself a favor and stay out of the Fawlty Towers thread.
I hope they do a Mythic Quest and do some flashback episodes.
Eg little lad Roy in Sunderland clutching blanky.
Man - you mention MQ. I really enjoyed the 1st 2 seasons. The the 3d season drops and we watch ep1 thinking, “We used to LIKE this?”
Yeah, season 3 of MQ was, imho, a huge drop in quality. It’s like they ran out of story to tell, so they just thought that putting together characters in increasingly implausible and uninteresting situations was sufficient to make a good TV show. It is not.
Thanks for the link - really looking forward to the next season. BELIEVE!
While I still enjoyed season 2, I thought it was a massive step down in quality from season 1 and think the Christmas episode was just awful. I’ll watch this, but my expectation is that it’s already jumped the shark and s3 won’t be good.
Several people have said they didn’t like the Christmas episode, but I liked it. For one thing, that so much of the Richmond team was happy to join the Higgins’s for Christmas demonstrated Ted’s positive influence. And honestly, the episode just makes me happy.
Same here. I didn’t love it as much as some of the best episodes, but I enjoyed it.
I thought that the xmas episode was 100% shit chowder. Like nothing redeeming about it. To be fair, I hate anything to do with xmas generally.
There have certainly been some episodes I’ve enjoyed more than others, but I don’t think I’ve seen a bad TL episode yet.
My wife and I enjoyed TL a lot, although I think it’s the rare show I really wouldn’t want to binge. Its sunny optimism risks turning into treacle when you watch too much of it too quickly.
I also, agree, btw, that the second season was worse than the first, and that it didn’t have enough soccer. If you want to make a show about people who work at a soccer club and foreground them and background the soccer, feel free to make that show. But making a show where the club, and the soccer, and the progress of the club through the season, is an important story point and effectively a character of its own for the first season; and then suddenly dial it way down season 2… well, it’s going to be weird and frustrating for people who enjoyed season 1 the way it was.
