Was the press aware of what the fan yelled and triggered Isaac to charge the stands? And if so, would that and Roy’s story lead them to conclude, as did the team, that Isaac himself was gay?
Probably not - they’d likely think he was just a violent homophobe.
What a great episode. I haven’t been as down on season 3 as some others, but I think this episode is going to be well-liked by everyone. It had the feel of a season 1 episode. Good focus on a serious main plot, handled well, with lots of small funny moments sprinkled in along the way.
As a Kansas City native, I got a kick out of the references. “Coach, did you just compare being a Denver Broncos fan to being gay?!” “Yes, and I sincerely apologize.” Got a huge guffaw out of me.
Anybody play the Wordle today (May 10)?
No, that’s why they were asking Roy why he went into the stands.
Fun fact: during the Soccer Saturday replay of Isaac charging the fan, you can clearly see what I assume is a wire from a mic the actor is wearing under his shirt.
Yeah, it would be nice to see goals for Richmond in their match instead of just being told them.
Also how does Jade have such a nice London apartment as a hostess for a Greek restaurant?
She’s the hostess with the mostess.
In the UK there is a minimum wage that must be paid regardless of potential tips, unlike the US if that’s where you are from.
Now that may not account for the particular place she has, of course. Inherited money or property?
Generaly a hostess would not be getting tipped minimum wage … But regardless, I’ve been led to believe London is a very expensive city where UK minimum wage folks would have a tough time finding a large flat by themselves.
I know nothing about London, but do we know what neighborhood her apt is in? Or even a suburb? And did they firmly establish no roommate?
Yeah - it is TV. But there are lower wage workers in London and they have to live SOMEWHERE.
On another note, I’ve been disappointed with this season and I couldn’t put my finger on why for a while… But I think it’s because this season is just taking itself too seriously. It’s a lot less fun than say Season 1 was. And there are all these random plot threads that don’t go anywhere and then get dropped… I mean was the only role for Zava was to make Jaime want to be a world class player?!
Her five roommates were at work?
Roy Kent has been underutilized this season. That press conference was a great Roy Kent moment.
I thought it was a decent episode, although the magnitude of Isaac’s fury seemed a touch implausible unless there was something else behind it.
That’s what really got me. The Isaac reaction was poor writing, They created conflict through exaggeration. They needed the team to be full of enlightened, supportive players, yet they needed a big drama around coming ‘out’. Isaac’s crazy response was their workaround.
In reality, Isaac would have been annoyed, taken Colin aside and said, “Why didn’t you tell me? Not cool, bro. I’m hurt that you thought I might not have been supportive.” Then they would have been past it.

.
I get what you are saying and agree to some extent but Isaac has always been written as an all or nothing kind of guy.
Next question, you Goblin King.
“You, new Trent”
The press conferences were great. I loved Coach Beard getting riled up on Joe Walsh vs Jimmy Page.
