I really dislike this show (apart from the theme song), but. . .
I just hear Raven intone with dripping sarcasim: “Evil beware, we have waffles”
That brightened my day of lying in bed with the flu considerably.
Yeah, Raven pretty much IS the show for me… I hate it too.
I personally love it, YMMV, but Raven is the best character. They’re doing a Trigon arc this season, so it should be pretty cool.

I watch when I can, though I don’t think it’s great. Raven is also my favorite character–Beastboy, Cyborg and Starfire seem to be nothing but comic relief most of the time, and when Robin isn’t being perfect he’s a whiney little drama queen.
I dunno. I dig Cyborg. He’s got his own thing going on. Except when he dressed up like Robin, and had Robin’s thing going on.
I’ve seen it a couple times. Way too anime/kiddie for me, but some of the later episodes seem to be darker in tone. Whoever does Deathstroke… uh, SLADE’s voice is perfectly-cast. I love that creepy, dead voice of his. The Terra episode was cool, if only for the inappropriateness of the Slade/Terra relationship (based on an older Wolfman/Perez comic story, of course). Other than that, I love the theme song, and Raven is the only character I really like (and she’s sort of cute in a completely inappropriate way).
Ron Perlman does Slade’s voice.
This show has REALLY grown on me, so much so that I’ll probably buy the DVDs when they’re released. I’ve been wondering some things like I know nothing about the original material the show comes from. Are they drawn that way in the original comics?
Also I’m a pervert since I think all the characters are sexy too. Everytime I see that episode where Robin is force to be Slades apprentice I get this huge slash/yaoi vibe.

No, they’re not drawn in that style in the original comics. The cartoon is mostly based on the Wolfman/Perez run from the 70s and 80s.
They’re also not drawn in the same style in the current in-continuity Titans book, which mostly uses the same lineup - Robin, BB, Star, Cy, and Raven. Plus Impulse (now Kid Flash), Superboy, Wonder Girl, and, either now, or soon, the new Speedy. (I’m nearly a year behind on Teen Titans, and a month or two behind on Green Arrow.)
They are drawn in CLOSE to the same style in Teen Titans Go!, which is actually based on the cartoon.
The problem is when he is featured it is generally in the whiny, am I a man or robot way or, even worst, am I a follower or leader. Tonight’s episode was the best Cyborg episode I’ve seen.
I think the best Titans moments come when they are a team and playing off each other. This episode’s “waffles” comment is one. Another is in the Raven choosing death over riding in Beast Boy’s mouth (that sounds a little dirty) only to be pulled to safety by Starfire.
Yes, Raven is a babe and last week’s strip show, I mean episode, kicked butt. It was followed by a JLU episode featuring Black Canary. Good times.
On preview: Princess Clara, the characters have been animized (anime + ized) and de-aged (they look about 14/15 on the show. In the comics they are 17/18). They gave Starfire a haircut, a major breast reduction, and a most modest uniform. Cyborg got pimped out blue dealies. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head. I’m sure someone more knowledgable will come along with links in a bit.
Darn, I missed the Raven strip tease!! When is the rerun? The only thing I know about the show is that Ravens voice is done by the same woman who does the voice of my name sake. That always kind of amazes me.
Going through all the changes to their looks that aren’t a simple matter of the difference in styles would take a long time.
Star and Cy got de-70sised. Star also lost the bad, bad perm, for instance. Which is a good thing. I don’t mind Cy’s look so much in the comics (although he got subtly changed, there, too), but great gods a’mighty, Star is awful. And what’s worse, they DID change her costume to something more attractive for a time…then they changed her back to the…abomination. >_<
BB and Robin are the only main characters that I don’t prefer their cartoon costume to the ‘real’ one. Actually…the minor characters don’t need to be excepted…I can’t think of any minor characters I prefer the comic costumes, either. Except I do like Arsenal’s current costume, and Mia’s Speedy gear.
Princess Clara - Tara Strong is my favourite voice actress. She’s very versatile.

As to the OP, I like the show. Didn’t much at first but it is growing on me.
I wouldn’t call it so much a “strip tease” as a “clothes torn off by psycho” thing. Very…words fail me, but something like “powerful, yet unsettling.” :eek:
Goes to show…just when you think American animation’s all tapped out, it can still surprise you. I guess I should just have more faith.

If you go to postopia.com and enter “punk25” you can watch the lost episode. I got that from TV Tome. It’s 12 minutes long with full opening and closing credits and songs.
I like Teen Titans, espeically the funny episodes. Like how everyone was dressing up as Robin when he went on his quest. In fact they that part really outshined the quest part of that episode. And when BB lost his mouth. And Raven getting transformed by Mumbo.
And yeah, Raven stripped down was pretty hot. But what makes me sad is that this not being real Japanese anime we’ll never get a panty shot from Starfire. Even with all the weird contortions she goes through in her fights, not a one. Sigh.
It didn’t. I was just saying, there’s a LOT of changes to most of the characters. Robin’s the only one whose look is mostly the same between both versions.
