So I’m sitting here quietly minding my own business today. Trying to read three books at once (as usual) when the phone rings. I answer and, of course, it’s daughter #2 who states that she is NOT going to her 4th and 5th hour classes today because people are making fun of her new hair color.
Me? I just sit there and say, Oh yeah?
She says that everyone is calling her Wednesday (an Addams family reference I’m assuming) and she doesn’t like it.
I proceed to tell her that, “Look…this was YOUR choice! Nobody made you dye your hair! You’re gonna have to live with it for a few weeks before I’m going to let you dye it again.”
Seems simple, right? HAH!
I finally get her to go on to her other classes and told her that she could try to wash it out when she gets home, but it won’t work. She says, Yes, it will!
Of course, she gets home, and immediately rushes into the shower. Washes her hair twice. No discernible change. Again, I tell her that she is going to have to wait for a few weeks…
She then throws a hissy fit as only a 14 year old girl can.
Ya know what? I told her she could dye her hair any color she wanted to as long as it was a NORMAL hair color! i.e. NOT blue, green, purple, etc. I thought I was being a VERY good dad! My dad lost it when I got my ear pierced and I was 17!
Any advice?
TIA
