Tell me about legal marijuana in Colorado

I’m going to be in Colorado in a few months, and I was interested in legal marijuana. I had a few questions for anyone who might have first-hand knowledge.

  1. What is the availability like? I’ll be in Colorado Springs. Do they sell it there, or would I need to go elsewhere?

  2. Where would I be allowed to consume it? I’ll be staying at a hotel, so I’m assuming it might be more practical to get a brownie rather than try to smoke somewhere.

  3. How much should I expect to pay (ballpark)?

  4. Are there any restrictions due to the fact that I’m not a resident of Colorado?

  5. Any other considerations I should be aware of? Obviously I know that whatever I buy I’d have to use before I leave.

I go to Colorado springs frequently. Marijuana is still illegal to purchase in Colorado Springs itself because there are local laws against it. However, some of the towns close to it have it for sale. Manitou Springs in particular is among the closest options. You generally can’t smoke it legally in hotel rooms, in public etc but I don’t know how much people are going to care if you do it discreetly. Edibles would be much easier in such a situation. You don’t have to be a resident of Colorado to buy or use it legally. There are restrictions on how much you can buy at one time however.
