Tell me about your shoes

And I’m expecting your attendance at this year’s Great Bunny Birthday Shopping Event where I will once again be on the lookout for a cool pair of shoes.

I once had the shoes of a dead drug dealer.

Nicest pair of shoes I’ve ever owned

I have a few pairs of Lugz, a few pairs of KSwiss, a few pairs of DocMartens, a few pairs of DCs, some Adidas… All told, I own 50-60 pairs of shoes, most of which I only wore one time before realizing that I hate them. I used to buy a new pair every payday. Same with socks.

I’ll prolly get kicked out of the Wimmin’s Club for admitting it, but I don’t really like shoes at all. I am barefoot as much as possible, even at my office, so I tend to wear shoes that I can slip off at the first opportunity. I get the creepy-crawlies when my toes touch! I have to be able to move them around and spread apart if they get too close to each other.

Ewwwwww - toes smashed together. . . . . :::shiver:::

I just have the necessities:

Strappy sandals for summer (white, tan, black). Good for toe wiggling.
Pumps for work (white, tan, black). They come off the minute I hit my desk.
Black ankle boots
Hiking boots - Well worn and no toe touching thanks to the wide toe area.
A pair of pink shoes that are a cross between tennis shoes and clogs - easy to slip off.
My green stained lawn mowing sneakers
White sneakers I wear with shorts
An old pair of horse poop encrusted cowboy boots - Ick, MAJOR toe touching.
Three or four pairs of 4 ½ inch spiked heels (one even in leopard print) that an old boyfriend with a shoe fetish bought for me years ago. I never wear them for fear of breaking my neck - and my toes touch. :::shiver:::
Umm. . . I think that is all. I dunno.

Bunny: heh. I’m so there! Maybe we can go halvsies on some wing-tips for UncleBeer.

Oops, I forgot my pair of Nikes that I wear to the health club and aerobic classes.

Oops, I forgot my two pairs of Nikes that I wear to the health club and aerobic classes.

I also can’t believe I forgot to mention my Elaine Bennis shoes. Remember the black and white wing-tips from a couple of Seinfeld episodes? Not only do I have the same shoes, I also have them in maroon and black. I love them.

Oh, and my Planet Hollywood high-tops.

And my $5.00 pink and purple flip-flops.

Really, I hate shoes!

I think.

Shoes:

1 pr. black steel-toed, leather and canvas (currently wearing)
1 pr. brown Rockport loafer things, for dress
1 pr. white Nike running shoes, for running
1 pr. brown/black Eddie Bauer sandals (usu. worn as much as possible)
1 pr. tan steel-toed boots, leather
1 pr. black/white Bauer 3000 hockey skates (usu. worn Wednesday nights, 9:PM local)

That’s all I got, that’s all I need . . .

Tripler
But I have socks out my ass. . .

Excellent! Let’s start planning. So, Uncle, what size did you say you wore again?

And how could I forget my clogs:

I have two pair: one pair of blue/denim colored leather Naturalizer ones and a pair of black suede flat-soled Naturalizers. Ahhh, comfort!

Hmm… well I’m obsessed with sex but have only two pairs of shoes: white sneakers and black dress shoes. (OK, three if you count the Tevas, but I only wear those to the pool or beach.)

I guess my outlets are sufficient!

Wingtips? I’m rather partial to cap toes.

Wow. Who are you guys? I am totally with you Mauvaise. It’s function over form for me–dare I say it–sensible shoes all the way. I own 4 pairs if you count my snowboots.

Easy Spirit black microfiber pumps for all formal and informal occasions.

Doc Marten sandals for all informal occasions when I want to admire my purty toenails.

Athletic shoes (cross-trainers for multi-tasking).

Doc Marten snow boots.

The I buy my shoes is so my feet and legs are comfortable. I also pick them so I don’t have to do a damn thing to them other than wear them. I also tread lightly and evenly so the bottoms won’t wear out, requiring me to buy a new pair.

I might splurge and buy some rubber-soled clogs this year though. Easy to stand in for long periods.

After reading this thread, I’m feeling a bit inadequate. Or maybe I’m emotionally withholding from all of you–taunting you with my cavalier shoe attitude!

The other thing about my cowboy boots is they give me command over both time and space.

They move in a geometric progression when I want them too so that each stride is twice as long as the previous stride.

Give me enough warm up space and I can span the earth in a single pace.

They also enable me to make use of the Temporal Fugue discipline. I can summon past and future versions of myself into the present (if they’re wearing the boots,) to help me out.

(Get that reference)

Sounds like something from one of Piers Anthony’s Incarnation Series books. Great series, BTW.

I was thinking of the Six League Boots out of the old fairy tale.

I shall not bore you all with my long list. I will merely add that I have a great new respect for Bunnygirl and alice.

Preferred footwear for men: boots of any kind, but cowboy boots are the sexiest.

My favorite paif of shoes: black and white snakeskin, three and a half inch heel, buckle strap around the ankle. It makes me hungry just thinking about it.

Yes, I am known for my shoe collection. I NEVER wear my work shoes outside. I will not ruin the heels by walking on cement. At my desk right now:

The birki’s I wore to work

2 pr beige pumps
1 pr purple suede pumps (soooo cool)
1 pr brown suede pumps

At home:

spare pair of birki’s
black pumps suede
black pumps leather
Sketcher’s (backless, kinda clog like)
Reebok real walking shoes
black suede sandals
Dr. Schol’s sandals
1 more beige pumps (I gotta toss 'em but I just can’t yet.)

In storage

I just can’t remember, I’m sure some blue pumps and some high top goin out slummin’ sneaks.

Ah, well…

5 pair Puma casual/indoor soccer shoes
1 pair Bally square toe dress shoes
1 pair Johnston & Murphy wing tips
2 pair Reef flip flops
3 pair Adidas Rod Laver

Scylla, I have a crush on you.

I like shoes, but I like shoe effecincy even better. I like to have Perfect shoes (good price-expensive is okay, but they have to be worth it-, makes my feet and legs look beautiful, goes with everything, well made) which will sometimes take the whole season to find- like last summers’ baby blue faille and princess wood soled thongs. If I find something that is wonderful, I sometimes buy it again when the first pair wears out. I have two pairs of nude sky-scraper Candies, for instance.

Shoes don’t have to be expensive. I have worn red flip flops from Old Navy ($3.50) every day this summer. (New pair waiting in the closet for next summer- planning ahead, this time!)

I like bare nude colored high heeled sandals, buy them over and over. I don’t think anything is sexier, and they go with every color dress (even black).

Knee high black boots, too. I buy a pair of these every winter or so, they are effeciency itself. Great with pants, great with skirts. (Great with patent leather hot-pants.) I bought biker boots last winter that I love.

In getting it down to the bare-bones art, I actually only buy (mistakes don’t count, and they are few, anyway) nude sandals, boots, thongs. I don’t think I own one pair of shoe type shoes.

I have three pair of Manolo Blahniks that I love. Black satin mules, camel suede pumps, mouse suede sling backs. I don’t wear them much any more, but they are beautiful. He really makes the most comfortable stilletoes ever. Manolos are pretty erotic shoes.

I do have a pair of blue Nikes that are pretty cute.

lets see.

1 pair black puma sneaks
2 pair (black/blue) skechers sneaks
1 pair skechers (doc marten) rip offs for work use
1 pair skechers (kenneth cole) rip offs for weddings and such
1 pair skechers brown slide ons for work (funky!)
1 pair skechers sandals for walkin the dog and such
1 pair puma slide on sandals (look like sneaks without a back)

Looking over my list, I think I should ask skechers for a sponsership.

Umm…

1 pair Nike sneakers
1 pair Timberland hiking boots
1 pair leather moccasins from L.L. Bean

2 pairs Eddie Bauer leather ankle-strap sandals (black and brown)
1 pair Eddie Bauer black leather slides
1 pair Eddie Bauer black leather ballet flats with thick soles
1 pair strappy ivory sandals

3 pairs Talbots flats (ivory, taupe, ink)
2 pairs Etienne Aigner flats (navy, black)
1 pair black leather moccasin-style loafers

I have more black shoes than any one person needs.
