Now that the Christmas bills have been put to rest, the Lizardo household would like to get a weather station. I would love to get the Davis vantage Pro which monitors and graphs temp, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed, wind direction, rainfall and other stats, but it’s WAY too expensive. The features I would like to have are indoor and outdoor temp, humidity, and barometric pressure, with some kind of rudimentary forecasting. The two units that are actually in my price range that I am looking at are this one from LaCrosse and this one from Oregon Scientific. Does anyone have any experience with these models or manufacturers? I’m flying pretty blind here, and any help is appreciated.
I have a simpler LaCrosse model with atomic time and temp/RH but no barometric display, just a fuzzy-forecast graphic that shows a trend: rising (up arrow with sun picture) or falling (down arrow with cloud picture). It seems reliable enough and was easy to set up.
