Termites and Trees, A Homeownership MMP

Have fun boofae Budapest is a nice city.

I have jsut finished the ironing mountain so I have clothes for work and clothes for vacation. Trying to decide what to have for lunch now - tummy is rumbling.

Oh and I thought it was a tad overboard to count the remaining sleeps when I had just woke up from one but OK then! :stuck_out_tongue:

4 more sleeps til HubbyTime!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

: squee : can’t wait! I am going to be at the airport to meet him and jumping from foot to foot in excitement like a little kid doign the pee pee dance!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. I need to brekkie forage too cause tummy is rumbly.

The weddin’ do was really nice. We had champagne punch, cheese thangs, those weird but good tastin’ little weddin’ cookies, little chicken sallit sammiches and cake. There were probably about 35 people all totaled at the reception, which is what was planned for, so that was good. Then yours truly grilled steaks for the dindin we had afterwards with ten people all totaled. We had steak, company smashed N.O.T. (made by JDD’s partner), sallit, rolls and, as JDD’s father put the real dessert, lemon ice box pie. He likes it as much as I do. Oh yeah, and the champagne flowed sorta freely. I was a good bear though, cause I had to drive truck back to town. We got back to da cave at around eight thirty, took showers and both of us were sound asleep at nine. Of course I had already worked, so I was really tahred!

Ok, gotta go get purtified for churchification. I get to be lector today.

Later Y’all!

Good morning!

Dogs are all fed, and they’re back asleep. As is the rest of the household.

In honor of Julia Child, I’ll be making Eggs Benedict for breakfast this morning, and Boeuf Bourguignon for dinner. The recipe calls for a 6 inch hunk of bacon, cut into lardons. I hope I can find some at Kroger. If not I’ll just use plain ol’ bacon.

We’ll get back to easier food this week.

Sounds like you ate well at the wedding, Swampbear!

Have fun, BooFae!

How many more sleeps until you see your hubby, ems? (I hope you don’t get sick. Eat some Vitamin C!)

Hey, Noonie! Good to see ya!

I hope today’s work day flies by, Mom.

Have a good day, all!

Thank you for that visual. :p:D

Good morning all! Yay for emmms, drink plenty of orange juice and other fluids so that you can have fun on your sleeps with hubby! Welcome back,SpecialOne, indeed we ladies have missed ya. BooFae, hope you have a great time in Hungary - you do take the most exciting vacations! No migraines allowed though.

My daughter fixed brekkies this morning. I think I’ll fix reubens this afternoon, as I didn’t fix em yesterday. It’s definitely going to be an indoor day, we’re at the beginning of some real summer weather and have been spoiled by the cool and dry weather we’d had so far. It’s going to be hazy, hot and humid for the next several days. :frowning: Ah well, it is summer in DC.

Good morning everyone. I’ve been up for a bit, but just cruising the Net.

I don’t know how you’ll be able to sleep four more times ems!

Mr. Taters is taking my son paint balling today. My son specificlaly asked for today off work so he could go. He hasn’t been since winter and really misses it. Unfortunately, he’ll have to use his old gun, because his nicer one is still in the shop…after nearly three weeks. We are not impressed.

We had a great time visiting with our friends and playing Wii with them. They soon found out how much exercise it can be.

**Nooner! ** It’s so good to see you again!

BooFae, have fun on your trip. As if you need to be “told” to have fun, right?

FCM, I hope your workday speeds by.

I need some more coffee.

Good afternoon, everyone! I stayed up til the butt-crack of dawn last night, although I didn’t mean to - I drank too much delicious homebrewed iced tea, and the caffeine kept me up. I rolled out of bed today at noon-thirty; now, I’m doing laundry. Blech. It’s a grey, dismal day, and I am unmotivated.

Lunch shall be sliced fresh peaches in French Vanilla yogurt. I’m just waiting for the taste of the toothpaste I used to fade so I can properly enjoy my food.

Tarra, I dunno what you meant when you told Ems to “drink plenty of orange juice and other fluids so that you can have fun on your sleeps with hubby!” but it sounds dirty.

Rebo - When you said “lardon” the first thing I thought of was “fat man’s erection.”

Man, I have a filthy mind today…

scampers off

Welcome back, SO! It’s been…er…mmm…less lively without you.

Sounds like the celebration was a big success, swampy!

I’ve been to church and brunch and Whole Foods and am contemplating what to do for the rest of the day. I want to go see (500) Days of Summer but I also have plenty to do around here.

for the moment, I’m thinking of taking a nap and will then see what else I feel like doing…

Gotta finish up the next MMP, I suppose…

Back later.

Story of my life – I only ever get to imagine this sort of stuff… :frowning:

(and thanks to all the others who missed me too. Ego boosts are all too often sorely under-appreciated! :))

Maybe; maybe not. In any case, have a great time. Try not to drink the Danube dry – there is no useful alcohol content in it! :stuck_out_tongue:

little too much to drink last night - feeling quite ootzie today

And you know this how, exactly? :p:D

Next MMP is written, I think. How’s that for an accomplishment?

On to the next item on my list…

GT

Have you seen the “Mighty” Jordan, recently…? I’ve been drinking it!

(this is actually almost literally true – quite a lot of Israel’s drinking water is pumped from the Sea of Galilee, which essentially acts as a reservoir, so we are pretty much literally drinking Holy Water every day of the week. What a waste to let Jews drink all this good stuff… :))

I wussed out on the Beef Bourgignon. Too much work! Instead we’re having jambalaya, and I have a strawberry streusel cheesecake in the oven. It’s smelling heavenly! If it’s as good as it smells, I’ll post the recipe.

It’s actually raining! It has been so dry here it’s not funny. I wish summer was over already!

The boards are wonky again, apparently. Taters, thanks so much for the info, I do appreciate it!

Moonie, wash your brain out with soap! Emmms wrote that she felt a cold coming on, so drinking plenty of fluids/oj might help with that, so that she can enjoy hubby’s visit!

Rebo, those Julia Child recipes are wonderful, but can indeed be very challenging! I want that cheesecake recipe though.

Reubens just don’t taste the same on whole grain bread other than rye. I’m just sayin … And so SpecialOne, you’re all full of holy water?! LOL!

I can haz Firday again?

I hope you find the info useful, **Herbs. ** I can’t find the sheet I used in the past. It must have gotten tossed.

Bah! I’m at loose ends here. I have plenty of chores I could be doing, but am not feeling it. The hubby and my son are off at the paintball course, and my daughter is leaving for work.

I missed you too, Noonie!

Howdy Y’all! Been a lazy bear today. I napped. Ok, other than church, that is my major accomplishment for the day.

I’m all sad right now. I learned that a dear friend, one of the most wonderful people I have ever met, died Friday night. She’d had heart problems for quite some time and had been sent home from the hospital with Hospice on Tuesday. Her daughter told me she died peacefully, hummin’ and in the arms of her husband and her other daughter. It’s comforting to know it was peaceful, but sad. They live in Mobile, AL and the funeral is tomorrow so no chance of me goin’ but I did just send some flowers. RIP Margie. I know she’s in a better place now, but she will be greatly missed. :frowning:

{{{Swampy}}}

Thanks Rebo. I called a friend who also knew Margie. Matter of fact, I know these people because of Margie. She called a couple of other folks who would like to know and mentioned I seemed really sad. I’ve had four phone calls from people just wantin’ to know how I am. It’s great to know you have friends.

I’m home. I’m beat. I’ve been cheated out of my weekend - I am not pleased. On the other hand, if this project continues into the week, our exercise next week will be canceled, so there’s that.

OK, now I’ll go back and read. I’m sure I missed all kinds of fascinating stuff…
