Termites and Trees, A Homeownership MMP

It is really fun to see the progress each day! They are incredibly fast. This is day 14 and we’ve gone from nothing on the second floor except a stairway to heaven, to a fully roofed and shingled house with rooms and most of the plasterboard up.

I will put pics up once there’s more progress and I’ve had time to send some to Flikr!

A dogless apartment is shockingly quiet.

swampy, sounds like da Bearcave is turning into the house from Poltergeist.

I’m eating a yummy zapped Yukon gold potato and a zapped carrot with salt, pepper and butter. All just kind of cut up and very slightly mashed. I must have a deficiency that it’s taking care of, because it is teh yum.

I could eat more, but I’m out of carrots. Might have to go buy some more.

Looking forward to the pics, HBrit.

Go tarra!

Guess I should figure out what I’m doing tonight. Writing stuff in albums, I think.

Scallops sounded yummy, Taters. I’ve added them to the blog. swampy, I know I missed the okra. Can you post it again?

Back eventually…

We’ve returned from our trip to the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Glass. The Natural History museum was interesting, I wish it was more of world natural history musueum, though. This one focuses on the Pacific Northwest.

The hot shop at the Museum of Glass was interesting. It was kind of cool to see those guys doing their thing with the tubes, tools, glass and heat.

The galleries were kind of small though. There were some pretty cool pieces, but it seemed to focus on Pacific Northwest Native American type looks (Makah, Puyallup and some other tribes).

We checked out the gift shop in the Museum of Glass. They had pieces that weren’t any bigger than my large coffee mug going for $2,000.00. There were other pieces there that were $8,000.00. Yeah, that’s right, two grand! Obviously, we didn’t buy anything. They had other much less expensive pieces, but they were still asking too much in my opinion. I ask you, who spends that kind of money at a gift shop anyway?

I’ve got chop-chop in the oven and then I have to take my son to drivers ed.

14 consecutive hours on facebook - is that a record?

Hey**** herbs****, I went to water aerobics tonight too! It’s the first time I’ve been there in awhile and I definitely felt it too.

TVMan’s garage door springs broke within a couple months of each other just recently. The springs were about $22 each and TVMan’s assistant replaced one and his dad is doing the other.

Swampy, it’s a local chain of maybe 10-15 stores and definitely not more than 20. It’s the smallest chain in town and has the least bargaining power in the union when their contracts are up for negotiation.

I’m sorry that Gordie had a meltdown, doggio. We had some fun times today, too. I took all three of my guys to a low cost shot clinic today. It’s a first come, first served place and while we tried to get there right when they opened, it turned out that they had moved and we got there about 15-20 minutes after they opened and there were about 20 other dogs there already. We waited over an hour to be seen and it was a bit tense for awhile having so many animals is such a small area. But, we made it through and everybody is resting at home after all of the trauma.

The vet’s office called and all three puppies need their 6-month shots. We’ll get 'em all done on Saturday.

Mr Rebo got a call from another good company today. Interview will be soon. Keep those appendages crossed!

Other than that, it’s standard stuff at Chez rebo. 'Cept for this funky new keyboard! It’s very flat and weird. I accidently spilled a coke on the last one, and it had several sticky keys.

See y’all on Hump Day!

Wow, rosie, 14 hours is a lot!

Wish I could help you and your Mom, Pie. It really makes me mad that her employer believes in treating its employees like numbers instead of people. :mad

Fingers still crossed for Mr. Rebo.

Well, didn’t get any album stuff done, but got my camera case all knitted. I just have to weave in some ends and attach one end of the handle. Oh, and I need to block it. But it looks cute. And it should work nicely. Yay!

Guess I should consider sleep…

I was so in the middle of things at work tonight I forgot to eat dinner until I got home. :smack: I would say “at least I have a day off tomorrow” but for the second week in a row, I lose one day off to a meeting. Scheduling: not a strong point at Hilton.

rosie, have you ever needed to ask the Facebook folks for assistance? I’ve got no idea if the reason I’ve had no further response from them is that they didn’t like my confirmation or that they’re working on it.

It ain’t my fault that my whole name is 5 words long in the short version! Or that they are stupid enough to put a limit on how many words a name can have (one of my coworkers had an 8 word name… in the short version).

They probably have a character limit too… may they get someone called Ana María Arrigorriaga Santestebanmunárriz de Todos los Santos attempting to sign up!

Spaz, I’ve stayed at Hiltons a couple times and I’m sorry to say that I was Not Impressed. One of the things both of them had problems with was, indeed, scheduling (we reserved a meeting room at a late hour, so of course it wasn’t ready because nobody had thought of checking whether they needed to be prepared).
11 days.
Yays and ouchies as appropriate to the people doing things to their houses, their trees and their garage doors

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. Da cave did not drop a ceilin’ fan on me in my sleep. I am relieved.

That’s all I got. Y’all have a good day!

Up, caffeinated, off to Vegas.

I’m So Jealous!!!

oh, I forgot to mention: blurf!

Happy trails, Doggio!

I lost 2lbs at Fat Club last night which was very good for me and it’s just the boost I need before I go on holiday. I’m going to try and be really good this week too as I go away on Monday so that’s almost a full week of losing weight before I start on the new beer diet.

It’s still raining though, anybody want some?

Also blurfy this morning…

Picked beans and a zucchini from my rather pathetic garden, went to a friend’s house with son number two, and made and ate peach ice cream there. Yum! Then left him there, went to meet two other friends and ate homemade noodles and tomato sauce, then went to visit son number one at his TWELVE HOUR rehearsal (this weekend is the start - eeep! High tension there) and delivered six bottles of pop and a big shopping bag of snacks. Was grudgingly accepted as I was ushered with a strong arm by son from the theatre. Hmmm. I think he’s hit the teenage years, embarassed by his old mum. Picked up son number two, came back to talk to builder before they left for the day, fed son number two but not myself having pigged out all day, then flopped.

I do like the summer holidays!

Peach ice cream. Nom, nom, nom!

Happy Hump Day to all. I just realized that summer is waning. :frowning: I do like the Fall weather here in Flawduh, though.

doggio, have a great time in Vegas! We’ll expect pics.

Hilton is one of my clients. :: Insert zipped mouth smilie ::

Mr. Anachi has replaced the springs in our garage doors by hisself…being well aware of their potential for decapitation and what not. So far, so good.

The Princess got her security clearance from FBI. Hurrah! She is currently an alternate candidate for a position here in Orlando. Keep appendages crossed.

That is all.

Tupug

Blurf.

In a fit of ‘What the hell was I thinking?’, I cleaned gutters and renailed a section last night at sundown. Nothing bad happened, merely a case of the job being easier in broad daylight.

My neighbor with the B&B gave me a big batch of 'maters the night before. I’ma gonna make canned salsa this weekend. Since they also gave me a metric buttload of homegrown garlic, I have to give them a piece of the salsa action when I’m done.

Damn. I have to work now.

Late to the game: I just scheduled to have my septic tank pumped. Financed by my escrow refund from my refinancing.

The Vunders know how to have a good time with windfall money, don’t we?
