Terrence Howard is insane in the brain

Huh. Does that come from there?

Troy Donahue was born Merle Johnson (used as his character’s name in Godfather II), Doug McClure was born Douglass Osbourne. (Osbourne is Norse for “divine bear.”)

But I’m wondering if those two were combined to get Troy McClure.

I always assumed so.

“I’m Troy McClure. You may remember me…”

Definitely.

Simpsons’ producer Mike Reiss explicitly said so

TROY McCLURE, Springfield’s favorite has-been actor, was named after film star Troy Donahue and TV actor Doug McClure. Doug McClure’s daughter Tané later told me that her father was a Simpsons fan. Upon seeing Troy’s first appearance on the show, he asked his children, ‘Are they making fun of me?’ Tané replied, ‘Yeah, Dad, I think they are.’ He watched a little longer, then remarked, ‘Well, it’s pretty funny!’ Subsequently, Doug’s kids would call him Troy McClure behind his back.” —MR

I always thought Mrs. Krabappel was named after the elementary school teacher in the old Our Gang/Little Rascals shows. Guess not.

(As an aside…. looking back at the thread title and the common reference… where else other than the brain would insanity strike you?)

The membrane.

I always thought that Dack and Dirk Rambo were using their birth names. It turns out that they were originally named Norman and Orman. Dack and Dirk don’t sound so bad now.

I knew Terrence Howard from the short-lived Law & Order: Los Angeles spinoff.

Especially if he’s crazy insane, got no brain.

By the way, I can’t think of that song without being reminded of this.

Holy shit that is awesome.

I assume the original episode had Danny Elfman’s orchestra (since he was the guy who did all of the Simpsons’ music).

I watched the “Terrence Howard is Legitimately Insane” video…

The thing that I found interesting from the Rogan clip is that Howard is 100% on his bullshit…until he starts talking about how he’s going to use his drones to clean up all the debris in the upper atmosphere…and then has to give the ‘why’…and it appears to me that the mask slips and he has no idea why…but he’s talked himself there…and he stumbles and stutters and then resets…“to mine the asteroid belt, of course.” It was just so clearly a lie he just came up with.

NDT responds.

Love NDT, superstar of the stars and Doper.

Nice!

I once had tix to see him on Colbert, but the shop where I had my car at ( that said I’d be out by 10 AM ) only finished my work at 6 PM. Hey, wasn’t meant to be.

TERRENCE HOWARD
JIM CROW LAWS OF MATH HIDE ‘TRUTH’

Terrence Howard firmly believes his non-traditional theories on math, gravity and science are the simple truth – and it’s only the “Jim Crow laws of mathematics” preventing the rest of the world from getting on board with him!

Problem is … Terrence says mathematicians have limited how we think about the world with their longstanding principles, comparing it to the Jim Crow South’s restrictive laws … which is why he thinks folks are resistant to his math principles – 1 x 0 = 1 is another gem.

I knew of him from a mystery/science fiction series, Wayward Pines. Mr. Howard played the sheriff who was always spooning ice cream into his face except when he was executing dissidents in the town square. Or he might have brought ice cream to an execution, I don’t remember.

Now, was that his character doing that, or was he doing that between scenes?
