Terrible roommate moved out... Praise be to god!

A little about my living situation. I rent a room in a house. There are 8 of us here. We share a kitchen and some people share bathrooms (other rooms have their own or half-baths). I’ve lived there for almost two years. I am mostly fine with it. I’d rather pay 600 for this room then 800 for a studio the same size and have to pay utilities. The only drawback is that my room is directly off the kitchen.

The turnaround on roommates is about 9 months to a year. Myself and one other person had been there the longest (this person had moved in a few months before me). In the pantheon of terrible roommates, this person ranks pretty low compared to some horror stories but she bothered the hell out of me.

Number 1- No volume control. She shouted everything. Everything. She was not capable of a whisper or even a normal speaking voice.
Number 2- Brought the sketchiest people over. The topper was her drunk driving coke addict boyfriend.
Number 3- No matter how many times it came up she did not get the idea of perhaps being a bit quieter while in the kitchen late at night… and I mean late like 2, 3 maybe 4 in the morning. I’d have to get out of bed and break up her kitchen parties. Then she’d get indignant and huffy about it.

Well the beast moved out on Saturday. Woo-hooo. And she took our pathological liar roommate with her.

Good times indeed.

$600? For a room? Jeee-sus. Tell me that you at least have your own bathroom?

Technically I share a bathroom. But I have my own entrance into the bathroom and my own entrance into the house.

I live in Hollywood. Sure rent would be cheaper if I lived outside the city… but really… What’s the point of that?
