Test: DS lite with Opera browser

Yep, this seems to be working. Now I can even check out the Dope when I’m in the bathroom. Wh00t!

You really should have turned off the inbuilt camera first. You knew it had one, right? I mean, none of us should have had to see that.

I saw the browser was finally out in the US when I was at Target yesterday. It took all my willpower to stop from buying it.

Is it any good? How does text look on it? Is it be capable of displaying Flash content or embedded video on web pages?

Everything I’m reading says it isn’t be.

No, it can’t run play Flash, and I haven’t found any videos it’s capable of playing.

Text in default is set up so that one screen displays the entire page with a rectangle movable with the stylus on the touch screen, while the other displays the zoomed-in area of the rectangle. When you want to put in details (like signing in on here, or writing up a post) you just press the switch-screen button to get the zoomed-in view on the touch-screen, and press within the area you want to fill in. And you can change the level of zoom by stages. Image loading is no problem, and I can read webcomics pretty easily (once you figure out the best zoom level for it).

However, the Nintendo Wi-Fi dongle is pretty much pure shit. Avoid it.

Hang on while I try the microphone. Oh, and do you have the odorama plug-in enabled?

Well, now that I know it’s available, I’ll pick it up for the novelty factor. I really don’t like Opera that much, though.
