Thai beef jerky flavoured with corriander seed

I had some excellent preserved beef with sticky rice in a Thai restaurant, and wondered if anyone knew where I could get this beef jerky myself, or how to make my own. It was somewhat sweet and flavoured with corriander (cilantro) seeds.

This does sound good, and I’ll sit by you and wait for a link.

Ooooh it does sound good!
I can tell you how to make the sticky rice if you don’t know yet…

The restaurant I had it in was Khao Sarn Cuisine in Brookline Massachusetts. I can’t find a menu on line to look up the Thai name for the dish.

Are you sure it was beef? We used to make stuff like this when I lived outside Bangkok, but with pork. The pork was cut into strips, marinated, sundried and then fried. But the net consistency was like jerky - a bit chewy, very salty. Sadly, Mrs. Shibb didn’t preserve the recipe on this. This stuff would be great with beer for watching sports on the weekends.

Maybe TellMeI’mNotCrazy’s mom has a recipe?

It could have been pork now you mention it. Was very nice and not too salty.
