I disagree with the fact that every time a poster has some criticism of a mod, they get toasted for complaining about it.

Yep. I held a grudge because manhattan was accusing me for wanting a link to be provided to something that was illegal. And yet, there was nothing illegal about the pictures. So what exactly was wrong with me asking for these perfectly legal pictures? Nothing. Zippo. Zilch. But manhattan refused to admit his error, and I was toasted for it, and my thread was locked.

In your last post, you seemed to imply that since it was legal, it should be allowed. You called it an error on Manhattan’s part, implying that he would have been obliged to allow the pictures had he known that they were legal. I was saying that the administration here doesn’t allow that sort of thing. Given the number of minors that come here, that’s not likely to change anytime soon.

The link to naked pics of Darva Conger in that thread doesn’t work anymore. It obviously did at some point, but it’s reasonable that it had changed by the time any mod or admin clicked it.

A lot of posters have questioned the actions of mods.

Esprix questioned my actions in a thread that involved copyrights. But Esprix wasn’t a prick about it.

andros had opened a discussion about DavidB and Gaudy’s moderation in the Penile Lengthening Thread. But andros wasn’t a prick about it.

CnoteChris wondered about moderators editing their own posts. But Cnote wasn’t a prick about it.

You see, Hatter, even if they question our actions from time to time, the vast majority of people here don’t feel oppressed by moderators. In the history of this board there have been some people who didn’t like our style of moderation. You know what they did? They left. And that’s fine.

If you think the SDMB community is a bunch of mindless suck ups and the SDMB moderators are inconsistent and petty then what do you like about the SDMB? The color scheme?

Maybe the rest of us don’t care to question whether or not it was appropriate to keep a thread about the correct way to eat a mango in GQ. A rational person would not get upset about that. A rational person would not search for threads to illustrate Manhattan’s supposed inconsistency to whine about. A rational person would not be upset that this message board does not condone or allow links to pictures of naked minors.

Perhaps a rational person may think that naked pictures of minors aren’t a bad thing to link to. But that person would probably accept that the administration here can disallow such things. A rational person would accept that the moderators are allowed to use their judgement on which posts belong in which forums. Perhaps a rational person would consider the mango thread an opinion thread; however, that person would probably just prefer to be thankful that he or she is not the one that has to deal with moving threads, and accept it.

You have yet to post anything a mod has ever done that would call for widespread disagreement. Most of us simply appreciate the work they do, and as long as no major injustices are done, would rather not whine and moan. This is not because we are interested in sucking up or afraid of them, but because we are polite enough not to complain about things we don’t really care about all that much.

You are obviously not a rational person. I mean, for fuck’s sake, in that other thread you assume that since we don’t all bitch and moan about the mango thread with you, we’d accept Manny burning our houses down. I think you simply want to feel superior to us by not “conforming”. I mean, talk about your “slippery slope”.

So, in summation, if you are too much of an asshole to accept that the administration of this site doesn’t want links to or solicitations of child porn, you are not the sort of person that belongs the intelligent people that continually answer your homework questions for you over in GQ. You have some stupid vendetta against the mods here, and though you continue to post here, you assume that we are all afraid of disagreeing with the administration. Plus you somehow construed Manny’s email to include the word illegal, which seriosly diminishes any claim you might have had to being semi-literate.

  • People were still posting to that thread making comments about the pic 3 days after the OP went up. A Mod would have looked at it by that stage. Besides, if links to pornography were forbidden, the mod would have made some comment about the thread. But the link in the OP was definitely working many days after the OP.
