Thanks to the cold, I took one of the interior routes to the cafeteria today, rather than going outside like I normally do. All sorts of unfamiliar and ominous places along the way - assorted mantraps, a solid steel door with ENCODING on it, a windowless wood door with a card reader for FRAUD, and a pair of doors two feet apart, one labeled SERVER ROOM and the other STORAGE ROOM.
I felt like I was taking a factory tour with Willy Wonka as I passed these odd places. The funny thing is that I’ve been in some of the utterly critical mechanical spaces, like the room where one of the building’s power feeds from the utility comes in, and that room just had a nondescript number on the outside hiding rows of switchgearand a UPS system the size of a small school bus.
Did any of the doors have this sign on them?

Howdy from da cave! Burgers are ready for grillin’. ‘Tis ok warm enough (46 Amurrkin and calm) out to deal with the grill so I shall. I have fried bacon (fully clothed I was thankyouverymuch) and have fries ready to go in the oven. Lettuce, maters and onions are all ready. Cheese slices (real cheese mind you) are ready as well. Plus all the assorted condiments one may want. Go Me! Of course the all important DQ ice cream cake is hangin’ in the kitchen refrigedaireator freezer.

I had a pretty good day at work today, though I didn’t really do anything out of the ordinary. So not a whole lot to report here.

I agree with you, Spaz. I lurved Velveeta as a kid, but I got over it.
I’ve got a chickie in the rotisserie, rice and broccoli waiting to be steamed, some fresh veggies cut up for munching, and a few more minutes to relax before I have to get back in the kitchen. So yay.
My sweetie and his folks will be here till Sunday, when they go back to Duke. FIL is having a procedure on Monday, and they’ll go back to FL on Tuesday. **FCD **will hang around there long enough to make sure they’re both OK, then he’ll take the train home. He’ll have to go back in a couple more months, but I’ll have him in the meantime. So yay!
