Thanksgiving in US Territories?

Is Thanksgiving celebrated in US territories?

According to a blitz of press releases coming out of NASA the past week, it’s celebrated on board the International Space Station, with only a single American aboard. Does that count?

Thanksgiving is a Federal holiday, so it is officially recognized in all US territories. Government offices, schools and so forth are closed. Whether it’s celebrated or not is up to the people who live there.

I have to quibble with friedo; only federal offices, post offices, etc are automatically closed due to the federal holiday. Local and territorial government offices, schools, etc need not close on MLK Day, Presidents Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving Day, or any other federal holiday.

That said, I suspect they do for Thanksgiving Day, but I’ll await a more informed poster.

True, but almost all state governments recognize the same holidays as the federal government, so I assume the territories do as well.
