That 80's Show?

Um, just remembered that back in 1999, there was an episode of “That 70’s Show” which dealt with the theatrical premiere of Star Wars. So if they were living in 1977 back in 1999, would I be right in assuming that come 2002, the show will move into the Nineteen Eighties? Will there be a mid-season name change?

I think that there is going to be an 80s show on FOX. I’m not sure if it’s going to be made by the same people of “That 70’s Show”, but they are planning something.

Oy, just wait until “That 90’s Show”. Or “That Millennium Show”. I can see miles of spin-offs as the decades go by.

The timeline of period sitcoms doesn’t match the number of seasons they are on the air. MASH* took far longer than the Korean war and That Fifties Show AKA Happy Days didn’t run longer than the actual decade but lasted longer than the late fifties time period it was set in.

If That 70s Show turns the corner into a new decade it will surely have jumped the shark.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO. The season premiere of That 70’s show will be set in the eighties. You have to remember that they only have one or two days to each of our real life weeks, and even then, only for about 10 to 15 weeks or however long the new season will last. So they are actually jumping forward in TV time to make the 80’s episode. How fake is that?! I mean…psshhtt… you can’t just like… travel through time 'n stuff!
