Humourous story of the hunt for a rental lion.

As a child, the Rev. Scott Lohse loved C.S. Lewis’ “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.” So when he heard a new movie based on the novel would be released around Christmas, inspiration struck.

And so began the pastor’s own errand into the wilderness - in search of a lion.

Lohse’s plan? His four December sermons at St. Martin’s United Church of Christ in Dittmer would revolve around the novel. And for the grand finale, on Christmas Eve, Lohse would dazzle his flock with a real, live lion (a lion cub, actually, but still . . .).

My favortie line, though is this:

“I’m either going to go with a puppet or put a mane on my golden retriever.”
