Specially cause she seemed rather pleased at 1st to get a toy pony.
The adult acter is really good also.

I remember it. I stirred up a bunch of shit at work about it. I had plenty of company.
Hmmm!. Could be.
Click the pointer.
To me her expression didn’t say “that’s not fair” as much as “you played more me for a fool and I don’t appreciate it.” I get that a lot from my friends’ kids.
The other girl’s expression definitely was more like “Look, a pony!” than “Look, a pony of my very own! I will love him and ride him and comb him and name him rainbow!”
If I were a betting man, I’d wager that the kids didn’t take it seriously in the sense that one thought she was going to get to keep the pony and the other thought she had been cheated. They may have been surprised at what happened, but they knew they had been cast in a commercial.
Sorry, Only Mostly Dead, I didn’t see your link. It was grayed out.
Did you click the video?
Of course she was pleased with a toy horse. So what? I hope you don’t think her disappointment is some kind of character flaw.
The adult actor made things worse.
I did. The video has been removed due to copyright.
Yeah, Johnny. It’s funny though that a lot of other, maybe less controversial, Lexus commercials remain on youtube. I dunno.
Not that I’d turn down a new IS. are you listening, Lexus?
It never ceases to amaze me when a commercial isn’t available on YouTube. If I were an ad executive, there’s nothing I’d be happier about than a bunch of people deliberately and actively seeking out my ads, at essentially no cost to me.
Yeah, I look for the Jack In The Box ‘We could kiss’ commercial that’s currently being aired. Can’t find it.
Yeah, I saw that the video had been removed, but the still image alone was enough to confirm we’re all talking about the same one.
Anyone remember the commercial with the girl who got a real pony, and she has a bandage on her arm, and when her friends ask if the pony bites she say ‘yes’ really, really quite?
I love the way she delivered that line. But damned if I can remember what the commercial was actually for.
Verizon ad! I love that commercial.
SO WHAT? It makes her 2nd reaction funnier.Thats what. JHC
That’s it! Thanks so much.
That kid (and his reaction) reminds me so much of my nephew, it’s scary. (Though, if it were really my nephew, he’d have a massive conniption-fit by the end of the ad.)
I’d like to see the kids reactions when the pony takes a dump on the floor.
Seems like that always happened at parades when I was a kid.
Yeah, right!
Okay, now here’s a cute, kinda funny, and non-mean happy pony commercial.
I know exactly how Grandma feels.
I love that commercial, too–especially Grandma’s dismissive reaction.
This all reminds me of “The Pony Remark” from Seinfeld:
*ELAINE: What about ponies? What kind of abnormal animal is that? And those kids who had their own ponies…
JERRY: I know, I hated those kids. In fact, I hate anyone that ever had a pony when they were growing up.
MANYA: …I had a pony.
(The room is dead quiet)
…
JERRY: No, see, we didn’t have ponies. I’m sure at the time in Poland, they were very common. They were probably like compact cars…
MANYA: That’s it! I’ve had enough! (She leaves the room)
JERRY: I didn’t know she had a pony. How was I to know she had a pony? Who figures an immigrant’s going to have a pony? Do you know what the odds are on that? I mean, in all the pictures I saw of immigrants on boats coming into New York harbor, I never saw one of them sitting on a pony. Why would anybody come here if they had a pony? Who leaves a country packed with ponies to come to a non-pony country? It doesn’t make sense… am I wrong?*
Pretty one?
Yes. The quotes mean something. It’s like when you hold both arms up and wiggle two fingers on each hand while you say something adjectivial.
