I tried repeatedly to get feedback about a couple of points I was trying to make. Those points weren’t addressed, I just got snark from the snarky-snarks.
Don’t be so condescending, folks. I’m not threatening your way of life, I’m just asking questions. Don’t expect me not to bite back when someone like Guinistasia gives me shit…it’s the pit after all.

Oh, please. Cecil Adams is the patron saint of snarky condescension. I’m pretty sure his feat day is April first. If you haven’t grasped this, then you’re far too delicate for this rough-and-tumble environment.
If you feel this board has lost its ability to engage in serious debate, why not start a serious debate thread in the serious debate place, i.e. GD? I’m sure there will be wisecracks and whatnot, but if you can keep your tone serious, I think you’ll find enough other posters will do the same.
As it stands, I’m pretty sure a thread titled “This Fucking Board Is Consuming Itself” wouldn’t get you accolades anywhere. Do you think any board on the net would have a positive reaction to such a statement? Name one.

You’re right, Bryan. I wanted my thread title to be provocative. I really believe, as membership shrinks, that here in the pit, board members will turn on eachother.
Yes, I know Cecil is the king of Snark. Damn, that’s why I’ve been a fan for 30+ years. And I’m not delicate or overly sensitive.
But, and back to what I’ve been trying to express badly through two threads, I don’t think this exclusive membership deal is working that well. I don’t think this new format will ultimately prevail in the fight against ignorance.
I’m going to apologize one last time…sorry, if I’ve offended anyone…and leave it at that. But I do think I’ve been at the mercy of a double-standard. I think my opinions are marginalized by my guest status.
So goodbye and goodnight. I promise, if I’m not banned I may still join. But I won’t post again as a guest. I’m going to think about the advice that has been given to me and I hope some of you at the very least think about the points I’ve raised.
