Why do I get the feeling that this Spring is going to be a repeat of the month just past? October for me: ChiDope, LA-Dope, OhDope. February is beginning to look like: Colorado-Dope, MiamiDope (and a Mini-TahoeDope in March.)
Put me in as a “maybe,” though I’ll (hopefully) be in Ginny Springs (~40 minutes West of Jax.) in a few weeks, completing a SAR Scuba Cert. if anyone is in the Jacksonville area.

Sorry to hijack but where did you stay in Islamorada? I just booked a room at the Cheeca Lodge for 2 nights on my honeymoon while waiting for our cruise to leave out of Miami. Is islamorada a good place to be? I plan on doing some windsurfing and lounging. It looked great!
As for dopefest, I may be game. Maybe I will schedule some shows down that way in febuary that way I have even more of an excuse to go!

I asked at Resi’s in the Beer Garden at the last big ChiDope, but you guys didn’t deliver. I promise you won’t be in any actual physical contact with each other. As far as lists, it is WAY too early for that foolishness, I’ll wait a LITTLE bit, maybe until page 2.

Of course, my plans COULD change if I win lots and lots of money between now and then (I play all those sweepstakes sites for a REASON, dammit!) But the quality time in NYC is a good way to make up for it. Now if I can just find a way to get all the other Florida to make it up here for NYCDope, I’ll be all set.

UncleBill, do we have a definite decision on the date yet? The only reason I ask is that I normally host a big Mardi Gras party the Saturday before Fat Tuesday, and that would be the weekend you proposed. Mardi Gras is early this year. I could plan the party a week earlier (still technically during Mardi Gras), 'specially if you could guarantee me more fun in Miami than I’d have at my party.

We stayed at a little place half a mile from Cheeca Lodge (Pines and Palms Resort if you want to look for it while you’re down there-or http://www.pinesandpalms.com if you want to look at it online). Islamorada is great, though. Really pretty place. Fishing is great, windsurfing, I dunno. But since you’ll be on your honeymoon, you probably won’t get out much anyway.
Golfwidow, sorry, I didn’t see your post earlier. How far in advance do you have to book to get a rate that cheap?
