I booked my Nov 17th and Nov 24th flights about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I did attempt to get a flight down there on 10/23 for 10/25 and it was going to cost me $250, so I nixed that trip.
…a move back into Tampa itself, down to the Westshore area.

Wow, that’s a big difference in rates! I wonder why…
Anyway, if I can get a cheap rate closer to time, that might work…also, hubby and I have always wanted to take a train somewhere, some time, just to say we did it, before passenger trains are gone (or all turned into bullet trains). We could get on the Amtrak here, take it to Miami and then maybe come back the same way, or rent a car to drive home. I dunno…could happen!

This site give a fare of $81 roundtrip from Tampa to Miami. The station is close to the airport, not a problem for logistics.

I have a wife and 3 litluns (all in a shitty little townhouse) so I couldn’t host anyone at my place, but I am willing to drive people around (3 kids = BIG AUTOMOBILE)(ie. airport pick-ups etc.).

So, we’ll set February 15 as the MiniDopeFest, February 16 and the MainDopeFest, and February 17 as the Oh-my-Gawd-my-head-hurts-pass-the-syrup MorningAfterFest. I am scoping dens of iniquity for partying and sleeping (or not), keeping firmly in mind cost, location, and “Doperability”, or the ease in which spontaneous parties can erupt at the hotel. Liquor store proximity is also being considered.
