The 14th annual SDMB Shot Glass Exchange is HERE!

Visited the post office this morning and sent mine off to the middle of the country! Should be there in a handful of days or so.

Also, if you get a package with a shotglass and some other random bits, it’s from me as I didn’t put a card or anything in it. Oops!

Swag has been secured! It will go out this week - thank you for your patience!

I have yet to venture out into the throngs of vacationers here to obtain multitudes of goodies. Movement is painful at the moment.

Please be patient with me - it’ll be worth the wait.

Silenus (and other veterans of the exchange) can vouch for me. And attest that I’m **always **late sending my stuff out. I will not flake. I will persist. I will overcome. You (my recipient) will be happy. It just might take a bit.

Trust me, I used to work for the government.

There wasn’t a return address on the package, but I am going to assume mine came from you unless you say otherwise, Teuton.

Behold the wide and varied swag I found in my mailbox today!

I think my favorites are the furry pencil case and the booze-flavored candy (I haven’t see stick hard candy in ages).

I’m also strangely comforted to see that we aren’t alone in generating weird Olympic mascots …
Thank you!!

Yes, that’s mine! I thought I’d written a return on the label, but obviously not! The Olympic swag is getting harder to get hold of now, a mere 7 years after we hosted. I might have to stock up.
Glad you liked it!

My package has arrived! Just noticed this morning and I’m looking forward to digging in to it after work.

It looks like I get a taste of my own medicine because I got a package but I don’t know who it’s from!

A wonderful [del]kitchen scale[/del] package from The Sunflower State (I didn’t know that!) of Kansas! I got an awesome state-themed shot glass, some chocolate covered sunflower seeds, a “drink local Kansas” keychain, a postcard and two mini bottles of alcohol!

Thanks so much mystery person! I’ve never been to Kansas and don’t have anything from there, so it’s doubly cool

Sheesh, I thought I put my username on the return address. That Kansas package was from me, Sir T-Cups. Glad you like it!

Torpedoes away and headed east.

I just sent my package West!

People who have posted that they’re working on their packages but haven’t sent them yet:

I’m waiting for a very particular shot glass to be acquired by a vendor I know. Once she has it on her shelf I’ll grab it and send my package out asap.

Hey, made the list three times! Thanks again for takling the time to do this, Lancia!

One of the gifties I recieved was a tiny bottle of tequila. I used that today. I do not drink the stuff straight, see, but I was making homemade icecream, peach to be specific. I ended up with about an extra cupful of the mix, before freezing. So I chilled it, poured in the tequila, poured that over ice, and sipped away.

The only problem is that is was so good I want another, and I have no more tequila. And what would/will I do when the icecream runs out?

Obviously you have to make more; or perhaps a nice raspberry/lime ice cream.

deedeeknowitall says not to give her new drink ideas! :stuck_out_tongue:

One egg
1/3 cuo sugar
230 ml light cream/half and half
1/2 tsp almond emulsion
one small peach, peeled, and chopped up in a blender
one airline size bottle of tequila.

Whir everything together, til it is nice and creamy. Pour over ice and enjoy!

This recipe gives slightly more ice cream mix than I had to use, but it is hard to make a recipe that uses less than a full egg.

My recipient said they got the package, but haven’t reported opening it.

Everything make it ok?

Yes, sorry! Thank you! The Kauai shot glass made me smile, I visited years ago when I was stationed on Oahu, and loved loved it. I always tell people who are planning a Vaca to HI to GO TO KAUAI!

And my 3 y/o latched on to the little plane as soon as he saw it. Unfortunately, it lost its vertical stabilizers during a ditch in to rough seas during tubby last night

Cool other swags as well, thank you!

Oh whew…I was worried.

Glad I could have something for the whole family!

Holy shit!!!

And I thought I went over the top with my packages. We have a new champion: Inter Alia. From the heart of the Pelican State I got: a truly awesome shot glass, all Mardi Gras colored, some Tony Chachere’s Dirty Rice, a can of “Slap Ya Mama” spice mix that my wife loves, a bottle of “Bayou Butt Burner” hot sauce that is going in tomorrow’s Bloody Mary, and a bottle of Bayou rum. Note that I did not say a mini of rum.:eek::D:D

Young lady, I pass the “Nothing Succeeds Like Excess” baton to you. Bear it proudly, and keep your head down. Barry looks mean.
