finally got it right
Hey! I just can’t seem to get this thing to work! I’ve clicked the link, but I can’t find a button that will allow me to join a private group. Help!
You won’t, because ArchiveGuy didn’t give proper instructions. ISTR that you have to make your picks first; try that.
Apologies. My instructions do work if you’re already signed into Yahoo!
If you’re not, you need to Log In to play game, then (IIRC) do a quick registration and “Accept-the-terms” field, and then you’ll go to the page I cited earlier.
Sorry for the confusion. Great participation, though (over 2 dozen now).
Great, thanks a bunch. I’ve figured out how to do this, and I’m registered as *
I’m in… even though I’ve seen about, uh, two of the movies nominated. Let’s see how far dumb luck and reading reviews get me!
I’m in. The name’s “plastic’s picks.”
Giving her a bump before the Big Weekend starts…
Still plenty of time to play.
Congratulation to Mahaloth, who, with 15/24 scored the highest, squeaking ahead of yours truly in 2nd and “Suzayq Calls It” in 3rd.
As the winner, and in honor of Peter O’Toole’s Honorary Oscar, Mahaloth will receive a CD of the Oscar-winning score of The Lion in Winter by John Barry (who also won Oscars for Out of Africa, Dances with Wolves and Born Free)! E-mail me with your shipping info and I’ll mail it off this week.
Congratulations and Thanks to Everyone for Playing!
I came in (lucky) 13th – I’ve done far worse. I was delighted that many of my wrong guesses were when the Academy proved to be hipper than I gave them credit for – honest to God, didn’t think there was any way in hell Polanski would win.
Congrats to the winners!
I am shocked - I did better than I thought I would - I’m Suzayq.
Susan
Tied for lucky 7th, and I got the run-over time correct!
Wow! I’m really pleased that I won. I know this makes me sound like a huge dork(as if winning didn’t already confirm that), but I’m really happy I won. I don’t win things usually.
This was a more difficult year than some. I was surprised about Roman Polanski and Adrien Brody. Halfway through the show I thought I was going to sweep that acting, directing, and best picture awards.
Nope.
Anyway, I really enjoyed participating. This is the first time I’ve entered anything on the SDMB and I’ve been here since 1997. I’m in the NCAA tourney thing too this year.
Well, thanks everybody. I will be living in China by this time next year, but if I can access the internet, I will most definately participate to defend my championship.
I’m really happy and shocked!
Holy cow! I can’t believe I managed 5th place. I underestimated The Pianist badly. Maybe I should go see it…
Congratulations Mahaloth!
