You know, I gotta get out more. Of all the “Best Picture” nominees I’ve only seen one.

Cool, I’m in.

I have already done this in another private group. Any way to join two groups at the same time or do I have to get a new name and copy my answers over to it?

Damn, I’m such an idiot – I registered as teeemingMs – sorry, I couldn’t figure out how to change my username. (Well, I am a Ms., and I guess I teem, so it’s not complete nonsense.)

Just wanted to let you know it was failure to pay attention, not delusions of grandeur.

I’m in. Hehe

Name is Tzomei.

I don’t have an option to join a private group. (Yes, I am signed in.) How do I do it?

yeah I dont see the link to join a private group either once your signed in

I just noticed something while making my picks, Bowling for Columbine was nominated for Best Feature Documentary. The last time a documentary I’d actually heard of was nominated was . . . well . . . never!

Evil Death and cherry: I’m signed onto Yahoo now and when I hit the link, it brings me right to the home screen where I can Edit My Picks, Join a Public Group, or Join/Create a Private Group.

Mahaloth, I don’t see why you can’t join more than one Private Group, as long as you’ve got the appropriate passwords.

13 entries and counting. Great turnout everybody!

Read this week’s “Entertainment Weekly” yesterday – may have to tweak a couple of my choices.

Well, it doesn’t do that for me. I found it anyway, though (and have entered).

DISCLAIMER (for no apparent reason)

This contest is not affiliated and/or sponsored in any way with Yahoo!, The Chicago Reader (trademark holders of The Straight Dope® and owners of the Straight Dope Message Board [SDMB]), or the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (trademark holders of Academy Awards®, Oscar®, Oscars®, Oscar Night®, and the Oscar statuette).

With that out of the way, I’m happy to join in the fun of the Super Bowl for Chicks, Hollywood’s greatest extravaganza, the Big Night of big nights, The Oscars. I like it! I really like it! Good luck, folks. And remember-it’s an honor just to be nominated! [sub]Yeah, right. And Santa Claus is my father.[/sub]

Oh, is this the first time a fake person was nominated for an Oscar (if you don’t count that sheepdog that wrote Greystroke or whatever that movie about Tarzan was)? There’s a Charlie Kaufman, but there ain’t no Donald.

And that comment was to have meant my father was literally Santa Claus, the man himself. In other words, It ain’t an honor just to be nominated.

I think the competition will be pretty stiff because some of the nominations may be shoe-ins, but the rest are very difficult to say who’ll get the Oscar and who won’t.

The editor for Fargo was a fake person. The real editor was the Cohen brothers. In that case, they did not know the person was fake. This(as Ebert says) is the first time they’ve nominated a person they know is fake.

Cool, it copied my picks right over.

I’m in, baby!

Last year, I had a 77% correct pick rating. I doubt it will be so high this year. It’s quite competitive.

And more participants keep adding on!
