The 2006 Weight loss club

I’m checking in - down 5 pounds! The only thing I’ve been doing differently is just being more mindful of my food and portions (but still eating more or less the same stuff) and doing my aerobics DVD 3 times a week. Oodalolly!

The, uh, quitting smoking thing got, um…put off though. At least until after my trip to Vegas this weekend.

Checking in. Doing a little better after the pity party of a few weeks ago. I went to the gym every day this week but one, which I missed because of a combo of work schedule and car trouble.

Today’s stats:

216 / 194 / 150

That 194 is a new low! When I left off last November, I was at 195. Then I gained a few over the holidays. My highest recorded weight this month was 197.5 on 1/16, so that’s 3.5 lbs in almost 2 weeks. Not too bad. Here’s a comparison from when I started in March 2005:

Pounds lost: 22
Bust: 4 inches lost
Waist: 3.5 inches lost
Navel: 4 inches lost (the gut is my worst problem)
Hips (measured at pubic bone): 3 inches lost

Other notes:

I feel like my underwear is too big. I don’t know if I’m ready to buy more, though – I might just suck it up until I get to goal weight. Who cares about underpants? They’re stretchy and nobody sees them. OK, my husband, but he’s usually interested in getting them off me.

I measured carefully and ordered a new bathing suit from Lane Bryant for my trip to Texas in March; there’s a trip to a waterpark on the itinerary and my current suit, although it fits, isn’t designed for much activity and I don’t want to flash everyone. The new suit arrived yesterday, and I tried it on, and – I think it’s TOO BIG. It fits, but it’s ever so slightly baggy. So I’ll have to return it for a SMALLER ONE!!!

My “smaller” jeans that I dug out a few weeks ago are starting to be a little loose.

And I had an awesome workout today: topped several weights/reps numbers, and just felt really great. I think it was because I was a little cranky when I got there and wanted to burn it off.

So there you go. If I can get to a solid 191 (25 pounds lost) by March 1 (one year of gym membership) I guess I’ll be happy. It’s short of my original goal for the year, but on the other hand it seems to be staying off.

Oh, and I renew my driver’s license at the end of May. 8 years ago, when I got it, the 150 weight I put down wasn’t so bad a lie. I hope it’s less of a lie this year than it has been.

Oh jeez - I bought a pair of jeans (thrift store) in my supposed size and I had major camel-toe. That’ll teach me for not trying things on. Five pounds from now I’m sure it won’t be a problem, so they’re put away for now.

Up one week, down the next, back up again. why do I bother?
I’m going for a fill on Tuesday, after which I’ll be on liquids only for 2 days. I’ve written off January. February will be better

Not too bad a week - not great either.

Eating was not too bad, mostly because I have a virus of some kind (worse than a cold, not as bad as a flu.)

Exercizing was not good. I did well until Wednesday when I got a virus of some kind (worse than a cold, not as bad as a flu.) I can’t breath and my chest is badly congested. I dunno if it is bad to exercise when I’m this badly congested, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

My plan today: Lay on the couch and read a book.

Hm, before we can give our approval, we need to know – what book? :stuck_out_tongue:

Day 11: minor landmark for me. I weigh 215 this morning.

Total pounds lost: 10!

YAY!

I’m going for my walk!

I’m up two pounds (down from five right afterwards) from a rather large dinner of sopa de pollo, corn tortillas, and a basket of chips last night at a restaurant near here and I may be going to a bar tonight with a friend in Portland so you have quite an edge on me currently, Anastaseon.

I’ve lost 31.4 pounds since joining WW on 11/9/05. I’m doing the Flex program and love it.

Alright - new weigh in

180/171/155

So I lost 2 pounds this week. Reasonably happy with that as I haven’t been starving myself. If I can maintain 2 pounds a week I should be done by the end of March. I’m going to have a go at that jogging exercise plan as well - see if that gives me the boost I need.

Weekly weigh-in.

This week: +1. YTD: -3.

Checking in after four weeks of silence!

Well, things have been going very well for me. I have been interval training on the treadmill 3 times a week, playing hockey for four hours a week, skiing very strenously once a week, and lifting weights twice a week. Whew…

Also, I’ve been keeping track of all my stuff at FitDay.com and have been very conscious of my portion sizes and choices of foods.

Started at: 209
Currently: 193

Well on my way of hitting 189 by March 10th.

I sucked last week. Only walked two days. Had a couple of days of heavy drinking for no particular reason and ate too much. I’m still having trouble with portion control and I don’t think I’m going to make my goal of 175 by this Thursday.

So, today I weigh 181.5 which is 2 lbs more than last week. Maybe I’m just directionally challenged.

This week I’m going to do much, much better.

(funny thing is that I can’t remember my starting weight or my goal weight at the moment. What’s wrong with me?)

Ok, I got on the scale last night to officially mark the beginning of my efforts. 195 pounds (which is, by the way, almost a 15 pound gain in the last year. Woohoo for depression). So, 195. I’d love to get to 165. Totally doable.

In an effort to keep threads from becoming too big, I have started a new thread for February here (yes, yes, I know it is a day early.)

Again - new weigh in

180/172/155

Hmmm…not so good - put on a pound this week, but I also know why. I went out three times this week and drank a lot of beer. I regret nothing. I’ve also been consistent with the exercise program so I know I can do better next week.

Weekly weigh-in:

I don’t remember where I was last week, but this week I’m YTD -5, so I’m on track with my five pounds a month.

Did do better on being active this week (I can’t really call walks “exercise” – can I? Two miles, brisk pace?) – managed to walk four of the five weekdays. Yesterday it was raining all day – looks sunny today, I should be able to go out.

Damn, sorry – just took the first “weight loss” thread – I’ll cut and paste into the February thread. shakes fist at cabguy

Sorry man - I didn’t even know the other even existed, even.

Was a good week excercise-wise. I worked out for more than twice the norm every day except yesterday (I went out of town.)

I *still *have to work on getting my eating under control. It is better than it was, but I must improve. As I keep saying, this is a life-time change and therefore must be something I’m willing to work on continuously.
