For the best film of 2010, among the 10 nominees, which would you vote for if you were an Academy member?
Hasn’t this thread already been done?
The Social Network - perfect film. Great acting, great directing, great screenplay/story, entertaining, a film that surprised everyone who was thinking “who wants to watch a movie about Facebook?”
But it isn’t a historic royalty story, so it can’t win the award
If I’d had a ballot in front of me I would have voted my heart, for Winter’s Bone. Since 2nd place votes can mean as much if not more under the current voting system, I would have voted my head and put The Social Network in the second spot. Then Inception, then True Grit.
The only one of those that really has a realistic chance is TSN. I don’t think it will win, but I would be so happy if it did.
“Inception” was my favorite film of last year, so I’d vote “Inception.” I know it has no chance of actually winning though.
I finally caught True Grit, so I’ve seen them all:
- The Fighter
- Toy Story 3
- The Social Network
- Black Swan
- True Grit
- The Kids Are All Right
- Inception
- The King’s Speech
- 127 Hours
- Winter’s Bone
I would vote for The Social Network. My #2 would be Inception.
I think The Kings Speech is likely to win, but you didn’t ask that question.
