I daresay the SPLC has enjoyed roughly the same popularity and influence from the end of the Civil Rights movement to the present. Do you have a cite to the contrary?
Sorry, overlooked that.
You know better than to directly insult another poster outside the Pit, jayjay.
Warning issued.
adaher, this is the third time in just a few days you’ve done this. You’ve set up an argument in another poster’s mouth and then used it to back up your own point. You have yet to ever provide a link to where such things have actually been said.
Can you provide a cite for the above? Or would you like another warning?
Give me some time to go through the threads then. ACtually, I’ll just start a new one on the subject which will give me an easy cite.
You said I played “political games to confuse”. That looks like a 3 word sentence. Let’s see a cite for “political games to confuse”.
The moderator asked me to supply a cite that you didn’t believe the President lied. I got lucky, that one was easy to find. And you know what a political game is? Making someone prove you said something you know you did.
That isn’t the main part of what the moderator asked for. You said I played “political games to confuse”. I challenged you and asked for a cite. You provided no cite and said “This one’s easy. You have argued with me many times that the President did not lie when he said you could keep your insurance if you liked it. Share with us your explanation again for why you believe that. See if you can make it less lawyerly this time.” I again asked for a cite for this assertion (which is far more than just saying that the President didn’t lie). So did a moderator (and I’ll note that you’ve made multiple other uncited and unsupported assertions about me) – the moderator didn’t just ask for a cite that I said the President didn’t lie… he asked for a cite for your assertions about me. And all you found is that I said “No he didn’t”.
“No he didn’t” isn’t playing “political games to confuse”, it’s not being “lawyerly” – it’s not even an “explanation… for why * believe that”. In short, you exerted the laziest effort possible while avoiding the actual effort of supporting your assertions about me.
The moderator and I have both asked for a cite to support your assertions about me. You’ve provided one tiny part which has nothing to do with your main assertion that I play “political games to confuse”.
Or, you can simply restate your argument and let posters judge whether it’s political/lawyerly gobbledygook. I even made a new thread for it which you’ve avoided, which is funny, because you are always in my threads. So yes, you’re playing a game here.
Not interested in doing your work for you. You made assertions about me, you have to back them up. That’s how it works.
I was unaware of this thread until now. You put it in the Pit and didn’t provide a link.
Fine, I’ll find one of your lengthier responses.
Gentlemen-
I see acrimony, but little debate.
adaher, don’t cite facts or beliefs that you assert other posters hold without providing some form of cite. Such would maked me unhappy.
iiandyiii, please don’t interpret what a moderator means. We’re more than capable of taking care of ourselves. Such irritates me.
Back to the candidates with ‘R’ next to their names or I’ll close this down as unproductive.
If I see someone named iiandyiii, I’ll let him know.*
*You have to count the i’s, see?
Heeding the excellent Mister Moderato’s instructions, I will note that Jeb Bush has just decided to share personal ID info on a bunch of Floridians with the world, including names, home addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and even social security numbers.
What happened was, he decided to share his emails as governor with the world, without redacting to protect constituents’ privacy. Fucking brilliant, huh? Guess he had to prove he could be as dumb as a Shrub.
Yeah, let’s put him in charge of a national stockpile of personally identifiable info. By all means.
Iiandyii, I won’t do that again. We’ll get back on track, moderator.
Jeb’s CTO has resigned after past offensive remarks came to light: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/232408-jeb-bush-aide-resigns-amid-controversy-over-his-comments
Just shows that it’s not all about age. John McCain may not have known how to personally open an email, but he didn’t have huge snafus like this.
Better to make your blunders now, while only we wonks are paying attention. In the summer of 2016, it would destroy him.
True, but this is a Bush. Bush campaigns are supposed to be professional operations. I’m not surprised to see Ben Carson, or even Bobby Jindal, stumble early. Jeb Bush should not be having these problems.
This may not be the kind of thing that can end your candidacy, but it may make him WANT to end his candidacy before it really gets started.
