The 2020 "Value Menu" discussion thread!

McDonald’s $3 combo meal has a McDouble cheeseburger and a small order of fries. Add a soft drink for a dollar and that makes an inexpensive lunch.

[[Golf clap (serious, not mocking)]]
And despite its narrative clarity and refreshing brevity, the unresolved ending surprise betokens an epic sequel. We now know there’s no pickle. But why, oh why?

Because pickles are flavored by the devil’s hiccups.

I went to check myself and you’re right about the menu change, but they’re still $1 here. 2x cheesy bean and rice is still my go-to cheap meal on the run.

I limit myself to eating fast food only 3 or 4 times a year. Went into a Mcdonald’s a few weeks ago and decided to use the little touchscreen kiosk because it was hopping and I didn’t want to have to wait a few minutes for a clerk to take my order (this location has clerks both taking orders and doing light kitchen work). I was surprised to see that the dollar large pop was gone, and had been raised to $1.20.

The 4 for $4 Wendy’s meal is great. BK has or did have a similar meal. I haven’t been there for a while (my least favorite of the fast foods).

Culvers is my all-time favorite fast food restaurant. I get the kids meal for $5.49 - cheeseburger (same size as the regular menu burger), small fries, small drink and a free scoop of custard. A little more than some of the other deals, but it’s worth it to me.

The McDonald’s app usually has BOGO quarter pounder or Big Mac and lots of other good deals.

was a bit s’prised to see denny’s being overlooked in this thread … of course, they have their own value-menu … with plenty of variety and taste to go around. my favorite has always been the $4 “value-slam” .

however … like others living under an indiscernible canopy … not sure if denny’s has continued offering this alternate menu … once the pandemic started closing everyone down. thumbs-up for this dining chain.
