The 9/11 Mystery People

On the 7th anniversary of the disaster, I have a few questions:
-of the 3000-odd victims (of the WTC collapse), several names of people came up as victims, who were illegal aliens. Most of these people worked as service people (cleaning, building maintainence, etc.), and I read that because of their undocumented status, the authorities could not determine if they were actually casualties. Did any of these people later turn up alive and well?
-An investment banker who was the husband of the mayor of Poughkeepsie, NY, was lost. According to his wife, he never had reason to be at the WTC, nor did he have any scheduled meetings at the WTC on that day. Did this guy just disappear?
I wonder if anyone ever heard more about this guy?

I think his name is *
Juan Lafuente*. While no trace of him has come up since that morning, he’s been declared legally dead.

That’s a pretty good summary of what is known about him.

LaFuente lived in Poughkepsie but was a VP at Citibank and worked near the WTC. In court proceedings, there was evidence presented that he had gone to the WTC to attend a breakfast seminar being held on the 106th floor. This included a flyer that was passed out at his office, records of his MTA card being used, and folks that he had told about his plans.

I can’t find an online link, but the Poughkepsie paper had a long story about this case circa 2005. his wife Colette was not just the mayor but had been a local high school teacher for many years.
