The Absolute, Positive, Best Song Ever!! For Now.

I just fired up Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots, and fell in love with it all over again. It surely is my absolute, positive, best song ever, and will be for a few more days until I am lured away by some flashy, falsely charming pseudo-best song ever. Yet I always come back to Interstate Love Song.

)And somehow I seem to remember that I have other APBSEs.)

What’s your absolute, positive, best song ever?

For at least four days now, my APBSE has been Kim Ferron - Nothing But You.

My runners up are Five For Fighting - Superman, and Garbage - Temptation Waits.

Pink Elephants On Parade

(Hippity-hoppity)

“The Look Of Love” by Dusty Springfield.

The Collector by Twelfth Night

“H” by Tool. But that’s held true for a while now.

OOH!! From “Dumbo”?

Mine…mmmmmmmmmmmm. Once in a Lifetime by Wolfsheim at the exact moment.

right now…
Fuzzy by the Incredible Moses Leroy.

in five minutes i’m sure it will be something else.

Dinne Warwick, What The World Needs Now.

aaah Bacharach…

(and David)

Peace, Love, & Understanding", Elvis Costello

“Nautical Disaster,” by the Tragically Hip.

Close runnerup: “Born on the Bayou” by CCR.

“Turn out the light” by Nelly Furtado. Mostly the ‘boodily boodily boodily’ bit.

My tastes change daily, however. For example, Smashmouth’s version of “I’m a believer” is pretty darn cool too. And I do like Gorillaz “Clint Eastwood”.

Roads, by Portishead.

And, to keep up the Can-Con of the last two posts…
Mass Romantic, by the New Pornographers

“Island in the Sun” Weezer

OOoooooh, Rivers Cuomo. My ideal. Hip, hip.

“I’m Already There” by Lonestar. Whenever that song comes on the radio, I start belting it out like the “Star Search” crew is filming outside my window.

Forgotten Sons - Marillion

Lately it has been Yes - Going For The One. It’s like rediscovering an old friend, and I’ve been listening to it a lot.

“Last Goodbye” by Jeff Buckley

Must I dream and always see your face…?

Saves the Day-Funeral

3 Libras - A Perfect Circle. Has been more or less since I first heard it… utter perfection.
