The Amazing Race 11/25: "Fishy Kiss"

You’re kidding. OK, that makes it considerably easier.

(Everybody must have been waving their little flags sideways, because they looked horizontal.)

Heh…I don’t know if anyone else caught it, but Abbie was tweaking Ryan for the France/Holland mixup in the cab by repeatedly holding the flag so the stripes were horizontal and saying “Holland”, then turning it 90 degrees and saying “France”. “Holland…France…Holland…France…”

I caught it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Did anyone else notice the close up of the instructions “by foot” while they were on the boat? Seemed like it was foreshadowing, but I don’t remember anything being said about that afterwards.

Yeah I thought for sure someone was going to screw up the “on foot” thing since they made a point of zooming in on that part of the clue.

Count me in as another one who saw the flag and thought France. I’d have been screwed.

They had that attitude because all three teams (T&L, J&J and TWINNIES!!!) got together and hammered out this plan beforehand. It wouldn’t make sense for Lexi to be concerned that the chipmunks would U-Turn them. Of course they didn’t expect to get screwed by the plan they were part of.

They didn’t expect it, but why not? There is no honor among thieves. If Abbie & Ryan are fair game, then so are Trey & Lexi.

That sort of scheming and plotting is exactly what I hate about Survivor

If you’re going to use the U-turn, it really does make sense to use it on 1) a strong team who is 2) at or near the back of the pack. Trey & Lexi were far enough ahead of the other teams that making them do both Detours probably wouldn’t have changed the order of the finish, so it would have made enemies for no good reason. OTOH U-Turning Abby & Ryan would probably eliminate them – although only if the farmers were given a chance to catch up to A&R, which they luckily were.

Hay is for horses!

Right. The Farmers are not a threat in this next round. Trey and Lexi would have survived the U-Turn and likely still come third. James and Jaymes knew that, so why bother to U-Turn them? The plan to eliminate the threat (Abby and Ryan) only works if someone U-Turns them and someone else “wastes” the second U-Turn on a team already checked in, so as to make sure Abby and Ryan can’t U-Turn the Farmers.

It was a strategically sound move, but no one (almost) on the show was talking about it in strategic terms. Abbie & Ryan said the Twins would U-Turn them because they didn’t like them. Trey & Lexi acted as if the Chippenmunks owed them some sort of loyalty. They only ones who looked at it in terms of game play were the Farmers, who realized A&R were considered more of a threat.

Is this episode worth watching online? My DVR screwed up.

Yes, discounting the fact that you already know all the spoilers.

Thanks, I did watch online. I have question that was unclear on my laptop screen.

When the Chippie took his shirt off to get more tips at the organ grinder, he seems to have something wrapped around his waist. But I could not tell what it was.

Then there appeared to be nothing around his waist when he was begging for tips.

Does anyone know what that was?

Decent shot of what notfrommensa seems to be talking about here (third photo in the article). It kind of looks like a set-up to secure what looks like a portable mic powerpack.

Moneybelt, as worn by paranoid American tourists expecting to get pickpocketed.

doesnt look like a money belt to me. more like a battery pack.

I agree - looks like a mic pack.

StG

Wireless lavalier microphone transmitter. Pretty standard fare on talk shows and reality shows. Always spoils a good rear end view, imho.

At first I thought it was something therapeutic, (like a pump) but a battery pack makes sense since they were both wearing it. I only saw it on the Blond Chippie.

Thanks for the replies.
