Amazing Race 3/8 - "It Was Like A Caravan of Idiots"

25 minutes to air time, and nobody’s started the thread yet. Has TAR jumped the shtark?

Tonight: Sub-freezing temperatures in Siberia. Who will fall back on the cliche “shared body warmth”?

I was thinking the same thing re nobody starting the thread, but you beat me to it!

I swear to god, Jaime and Cara trigger my brain to think, “It’s Debra Messing and her clone! Cool!”

I believe I mentioned it last week, but this season’s theme is “Natives drinking and laughing at Americans.”

I meant to mention that…this is 4 for 4 with that.

I officially have no idea who is going to win this Race.

I missed the first 10 minutes. Can someone tell me how three teams that started last (except Tammy & Victor, who wound up in the main pack) got such a big lead?

There were four flights into Moscow, and some of those flights missed the connection. Everybody on those flights was in the second pack.

Weather, mechanical, or dumb luck?

I think they didn’t say – which means dumb luck.

I did not get the impression any of them booked the connection from Moscow to Lower Slobbovia. They all seemed concerned only with getting to Moscow, and might have been trusting in finding the next leg once they got there.

Sad about that team. I liked them and figured they would go a lot farther.

Loved the bobsled ride! It’s neat that Mel has got to do the “fun roadblocks”. First he paraglided and now the bobsled. Cool!

I’m really not liking the team that used the U-turn.

Another fun episode, with the best (and truest) title EVER.

Pfft. It’s part of the game. It’s the teams who get all morally butthurt about it that I end up not liking, because the U-Turn and the Yield are part of the game…there’s nothing immoral or wrong about using them. Acting like these things are evil or nasty is like acting like tackling in football is wrong and nasty.

Didn’t the first team arrive at something like 8:30 AM? That’s a nice time of day to be dancing and doing vodka shots.

I thought Margie & Luke were smart to use the U-Turn. I also thought they were smart in the team they chose. Kris & Amanda were known to be behind them, and he’s known to be a strong guy who could probably do a task like stacking wood well (too bad it fell!).

I did think it was funny that they said they did it to help Cara & Jaime. (And I agree with whoever said they constantly think it’s two Debra Messings racing.)

The U-Turn worked perfectly. Kris & Amanda were in last place by the time they got to it anyway, so all it did was insure they’d be the ones gone. I doubt they’d have been able to make up the time anyway.

I didn’t mean the reason I don’t like them is because they used the U-turn. I know that’s part of the game and if they hadn’t, someone else would.

What I meant was, I really don’t like them period. But, I’m still not sure of everybody’s names, so I used the U-turn using as an identifier.

I agree completely, jayjay. There they were complaining about how it was “shady.” No, it was smart! A strong team was eliminated – the perfect outcome for Luke & Margie.

Dumbass placement for the U-Turn though.

The way the leg was designed, it was an instant elimination. I don’t want an Amazing Race where someone can be voted off the island so to speak.
