This week: Team Cha Cha Cha are Marked for Philimination. The Final Three will be determined and at least one all-female team (Dustin and Kandace or Charla and Mirna) and at least one all-jackhole team (Charla and Mirna or Eric and Danielle) will go through. Can Oswald and Danny overcome their 30-minute penalty? Could we for the first time in the history of the Race have two all-female teams in the Final Three (sadly, we’ve had far too many Races already with two all-jackhole teams)? Let’s watch!
Danny and Oswald must overcome their penalty if I am to go on. I probably should have gone shopping and gotten a pedicure today to get my nerves in the right place for watching tonight. (Instead, I ran a Race, but not an Amazing one).
The preview at the end of last week’s episode showed one team (Dustin & Kandice?) in a military cargo plane, and Danielle getting lost & freaked out on a ground-pounder military task.
Otto, I don’t see why you call Danielle a jackhole, beyond a lot of guilt by association. Sure, if Eric were any more of a jackass he’d have four feet and be braying, but what has Danielle done to be called nasty names?
Charla & Mirna, however, I understand.
The editors, I think, are trying to give Danny & Oswald a “good guy” image and Dustin & Kandice a “bad girl” image. I think the BQs have raced a lot more cutthroat than any other team, which is not in and of itself a bad thing.
Given TAR editors’ tendency for deceptive previews, I suspect Eric & Danielle will NOT be eliminated tonight. Personally, I’d like to see them place first, just this once, so that all surviving teams have a chance to be in the #1 spot. I’m rooting for the BQs to win it all. So for my $.05, I’d like to see Charla & Mirna go home tonight.
Oh my god, not only does Mirna know she does the horrible accents, she chooses among horrible accents.
And yet they all sound exactly the same.
It spoiled a destination. It is more than “Another contestant is voted off the island” since while I knew that someone is going to be eliminated tonight I didn’t know anything about how they get to that point. After reading your post I did. Thus, spoiler.
(edit) Man, Oswald and Danny really got lost last time. An hour and 47 minutes behind Schmirna.
I’d have definitely picked the humanitarian detour option with the really big plane rather than the scrub the engine task. Much more exciting. Even if it does end up taking longer.
I do agree, this Detour was somewhat about personal preference, as the tasks looked to be similar in length.

All teams made it to Guam on the same flight.
We had here a good case study in when to go for the tight connection. Uwchenna & Joyce took a flight a few legs back with a 45 minute connection, to try to take the lead; they missed the connection, and bought it. Oswald & Danny took a flight with a 45 minute connection, to try to stay in the race. They had no choice but to take it.
