One week till TARCon I think it’s pretty obvious that This is the last non-elimination leg .
Will there be a Yield this week? Will Colin have a huge meltdown? Will Nicole finally admit she’s not really a Christian? (OK, I made that last part up…)
I think your spoiler is incorrect. I think that will happen between the second to last and last episodes, which I think will air as one 2-hour block.
We know there will be a Yield used this week. It’s been in the promotion since last week.
Also, some team is supposed to get lost coming right of the last pit stop. (I hope it’s Colin and Christie, but if it is, they’ll probably get un-lost right away anyway.)
And Chip is supposed to be afraid of heights, but will have to climb that ladder to the very high bridge. Maybe this is something Kim should be doing.
So, during the football games over the weekend, they were talking about how “ONLY TWO EPISODES REMAIN,” so we are getting down to crunch time here, aren’t we? I agree with annieclaus – four non-elimination legs does not necessarily mean four non-elim episodes. Then again, I am usually wrong about this stuff.
My totally random thoughts, for whatever they are worth (done as spoilers so as not to get into any trouble):
1. I think the Moms will get lost outside the Pit Stop, dropping them back to 4th place. However, I think they will end up right behind (~5 minutes) whoever is in 3rd place.
I think that Colin & Christie will use the Yield this leg, and that they will Yield Chip & Kim. C&K have been right behind C&C for most of the Race, and I think they are considered the biggest competition.
If the above two things happen, then I think that Brandon & Nicole might end up in first place (if C&C actually have the trouble they have been shown having at the Roadblock).
Order at the end? B&N, C&C, Moms, C&K – C&K out.
Of course, I don’t want it to turn out like that, because I really like C&K, but Chip is about as sharp as a sack of wet mice when it comes to strategic gameplay, and I think his “kindness” is about to bite him in the tuchus.
Then again: I have been pretty much completely wrong for the entire season, so I see no reason why things would be different now.
All four seasons before had non-elim and then finish in a two hour block so it would be a major twist if tonight is non-elim and then the two hour finale has an elimination at the mid-point.
So the question becomes who will be eliminated… tonight?
And I’ve got to say it’s a tough call. This leg is going to be won and lost on the flight and the errors made. But running through the candidates:
Colin and Christie are the least likely to be eliminated. I don’t buy the preview’s breakdown; I think we all have seen how those get blown out of proportion (and it doesn’t help that Colin blows everything out of proportion on his own). Their odds increase if they get slammed with the Yield, but not that much. The roadblock and detour were happening in the day and the yield shot was at night so bunching can recover that.
Chip and Kim are moderately likely to be eliminated simply based on the fact that if I were to pick a team to get lost immediately it would be them. The Bowling Moms and Brandon and Nicole make other mistakes than getting completely lost. The Bridge looks like it may slow them down more than the younger teams.
Brandon and Nicole are very likely to be eliminated. They’re obviously in the depths of killer fatigue (or at least one of them is). If they can take the smart choices this week instead of complaining about how risky something is they’ll have better odds, but I still see them as falling behind.
As much as it pains me I have to give the Bowling Moms the most likely to be eliminated prize. While I think they’ll avoid the fatigue errors better this week than they did a few weeks ago (they seemed positively perky toward the end of the last episode) this looks to be a very physically demanding leg. Not riding around and letting gravity do the hard work like the last leg. They’re going to need a major problem for another team to avoid being eliminated and they’ll need to avoid a major problem for themselves.
With that said, it really is a horse race for that last spot and anything can happen. This should be a great episode tonight…
I agree, Chip’s kindness is going to cost him. He’s just too nice for something like this… he has to be a little more cut-throat.
From the previews, it looks like Chip and one of the Moms are having a problem with the ladder-under-the-bridge thing. I’m guessing it’s a Roadblock, but could be a Detour.
I’d love to see C&C get eliminated tonight, because I’m fine with any of the others winning. I’d love to see either the Moms or Chip and Kim win, a little less so with B&N.
I will really hate it if C&C win. Yeah, I know they’re good racers and have made some good moves and have the strategy, but I just hate Colin.
Where is that “Weeping Inconsolably” emoticon?? Unfortunately, I have to agree.
Yeah, remember how excited we all were to see someone shave their head? Damn teasers.
If only 2 episodes remain, there’s a good chance I’ll get to see them before this baby is born. If Colin and Christie do win, though, the upset alone is likely to send me into labor.
Obviously from the previews for next week, having to give up all their money doesn’t hinder Colin and Christie in the least. I am SO bitterly disappointed.
Weren’t there a few people here who didn’t think Colin’s Anger Management problems were all that bad? :dubious:
Son of a BITCH. God really and truly HATES me and likes nothing better than to mock my pain and watch me suffer.
“My ox is broken!” ??? Ow, my head. Actually, this entire episode hurt my head. I’m with lorene – where IS that “weeping uncontrollably” emoticon?
PastAllReason: To answer your question, yes and no. Yes, I was surprised that she said it out loud, but I wasn’t surprised that she was thinking it. Those two asses deserve each other. And how hard was it to figure out that ONE OF YOU MORONS WAS SUPPOSED TO LEAD THE DAMN OX?
God, you spiteful witch, if you were going to leave them around, why couldn’t we at least see Colin get gored? Fuck a duck and whatnot!
I. AM. SO. PISSED!!!
Finally, a chance to get rid of the vile Colin and Christie. . . and IT’S. A. NON-ELIMINATION. LEG!!! What the. . . . .?
Those two deserve each other.
Chip and Kim did the right thing to YIELD them. I just hope it doesn’t jump up to bite them on the bottom. (And at least they got a vacation out of their first place finish!)
The Moms did great.
And Team Blue Lagoon wasn’t all that awful.
Grrrrrrr!!! I just wish C&C had been sent packing with all that ox mud all over them. (I take this game much too personally.)
It just proves the old saying that it’s easy to be a good sport when you’re winning.
“Chip and Kim backstabbed us! They yielded us! It’s not fair!”
WAAAAAH! Go take a Valium and try not to wake up in the morning, you idiotic asses!
The fact that this, this result that these two gigantic ticks sucking at the ass end of humanity came in last, and it was a non-elimination leg, proves that there is no God.
I love Colin and Christie. They are by far my favorite, a little anger to work out but who cares. They had some bad airport luck otherwise they’d have won by 12hrs but that’s the game I guess. I really hate Brandon and Nicole and want them to lose, badly. I can stand the other two teams but they really have no personality.
I don’t like Colin’s attitude any better than the rest of you, but they are the best racers and I think it would have sucked for them to be eliminated because of the Yield.
I don’t blame Chip and Kim for using it, but I don’t like the Yield as part of the game. It seems out of place in a race where the outcome is usually determined by mostly skill with a bit of chance thrown in. Now all of a sudden the race becomes “F–k your neighbor.”
(I know the yield has been available on all legs of this race and just hasn’t been used until now, but that supports my point)
