The Amazing Race - April 24, 2011 - We're good American people.

He was doing some sort of math on his clue before he gave his answer, he just got it wrong. I looks like he was trying to figure it out based on what Gary told him (I saw 17 and 10, which were his and Gary’s distances when they met up).
I think if I had to do this challenge I would stop to write down my distance every time I made a turn. Of course, racing hindsight is 20/20.

Man, I hope they have to

carry the thing with them all the way to the mat.

Regarding the sharing information rule, I think it should be allowed, but the race should be set up so it’s harder to do so. The problem was that the teams waited for a bus right where the cyclists were passing. If they had to go somewhere else, further down the road, then the only way to share info is if they worked together during the challenge.

Good idea, but what you gonna do? It’s Liechtenstein, you can’t turn around without meeting the same people twice.

I don’t mind the exchange of information, before they know the answer is correct If I had got lost on the scooter trip, I would have probably found a internet cafe (or similar) and gone to google maps to chart the trip. (but that probably wasn’t allowed).

A possible solution: do not tell the teams whether they got the answer correct but impose a time penalty at the check in. Something like 5 or 10 minutes for every km wrong. IMO, teams ahead would have no choice but to use the double u-turn because they would have no idea if they had an upcoming penalty.

I didnt mind the info sharing. The social relationships are a part of the race.

The BEST part of the episode was Zev! I love that guy. All of his Fondue comments were hilarious…and even him wearing the pot on his head at the end had me rolling. I loved him pushing Justin to eat the cheese. That was great!

I was sad to see the Cowboys go, because I loved them last season, but I reason that I think i’d be sadder if the Globetrotters left… because theyre hilarious!

Oh…and just for the record… Jet sucks. Cord rules! Cord would have NEVER messed up that distance!!!

RainGrowsBrite - I can never remember which cowboy is which. Or which Globetrotter is which. Or which redheaded cheerleader is which. Or which Goth is which

StG

The skinny, weak, effeminate one with the heavy makeup is Kent.

I want to do that fondue challenge. I could have smoked it. I do wonder if they were allowed to double-dip. If so, just suck the cheese off the bread and reuse.

I think Mallory looks a lot like the lovely Virginia Madsen.

At the point where they met up, Gary told Cord that Cord’s distance was off by at least 7km, but then his first answer was off by 13. It was a massive error on Cord’s part, he got completely turned around somewhere.

Kisha (or was it Jen, I don’t know which is which) asked Justin what the distance was, but she might’ve been confirming her total more than asking for the answer outright. It’s hard to tell if she was listening when he gave his answer to Marco or if she was figuring her own distance.

The editing was strange, because Flight Time caught up with Gary, and he somehow got well ahead of Vyxsin, the whole thing was weird. But it’s pretty clear that Vyxsin and Cord both derived their answers independently.

Just watched this, and I think the entire leg would have been much better if the two segments were reversed.

Do the detour first (with the U-Turn). This makes it much more likely the U-Turns are both used, spreads out the teams, and gives the U-Turned teams time to make it up. Also, by spreading out the teams before the Roadblock, you would likely have much less data sharing because the teams are all right by each other.

Would have been a much better leg, IMO.

I think we’re all missing the other race-shattering development from this leg –

The Cowboys got the trouble edit in the commercials and teasers, and then got eliminated!

The Amazing Editors have taken that away from us. All racers are fair game now. No more relaxing because your favorite team got the trouble edit.

My son was asking which of the Kint and Vyxsin team was the boy and which was the girl. I answered, “It depends on the episode.”

Team Hermaphrodite for the win!

Just kidding.
