The Amazing Race Finale 9/21 (Spoilers, if you haven't seen it yet)

So that could be on a Tuesday, replacing that CLUBHOUSE thingie.
Or Friday when Rob Lowe’s VEGAS DOCTOR (I know, that’s not it’s name, but for the life of me I can’t remember what it is!) tanks!
I hope it’s Tuesday cuz there’s NOTHING to watch on Tuesdays now!

If you mentioned the name “The Amazing Race”, and the ticket agent for airline X pulled some strings for you, then that might preclude CBS from accepting advertising revenue from airline X for fear of it appearing that they fixed the outcome of the race in exchange for promotional consideration. CBS has enough trouble without a “Quiz Show” type scandal.

The new Amazing Race according to the CBS website with the new fall schedules starts 8:00 ET Saturday October 2. Apparently, there’s just an error on the page that has Thursday.

I’m not sure yet how I feel about it being on Saturday night. I kind of liked it on Tuesdays, especially with the Saturday repeat. But I’m just happy that I don’t have to wait until January for the new episode.

Was it just me, or did anyone else get the feeling that the ticket agent in Canada was aware that these were TV show contestants and was trying to do good for them to look good on tv? I remember her saying at one point “We’re trying to pull people off that flight, so you can make it”…Somehow I don’t think they’d be willing to go through that effort for little 'ol me. So while it’d be cool if they did some more race-type events in the US, I’m glad they don’t because I think there would be too much “assistance” given.

NotWithoutRage, I was there too. Wasn’t that a hell of a party?

I know I’m late getting to this thread, but I just got home last night, and didn’t get online until this afternoon.

That was exactly the ending I was hoping for.

Is it just me that finds the attitude of this agent deplorable ? If I was one of the passengers that was pulled of that flight and I just had seen that episode, I think I would have good reasons to sue the airline, at the very least get that agent fired.

I can’t imagine that any passenger would be “pulled off” a flight any way other than willingly. Like being offered the next flight out, an upgrade to first class and vouchers for a future free flight, or a combination thereof. And we wonder why airlines are going bankrupt!

That’s exactly what they do. I’ve been on a few flights where they offered goodies for people to give up their seats. They probably make you sign something saying you won’t sue them, too.

Why is everyone so certain that Clubhouse will fail? It almost looks like a good show.

Because

Having a job as a batboy could change his life forever!

That’s why.

My pleasure at seeing Chip and his baggage, Kim, win was balanced almost exactly by my revulsion over seeing ColinandChristie pledge their undying love to each other. If there was ever a couple that deserved each other, it’s them.

I was *sure * Kim would try another roadblock sometime - guess finding that scarab in Egypt just took it out of her, though.
Didn’t AR5 premiere on a Saturday too, before a rerun on its regular-from-then-on Tuesday slot? I can’t see CBS shuffling time slots with AR6 - gotta be the same deal.

I can’t slag Kim for the Roadblock thing. They worked well together when they were doing the two-person challenges and Chip appears to have volunteered for most of the Roadblocks he did.

And at least Kim is no Flo. She may not have done anything spectacular in Roadblocks, but she wasn’t a bitch.

And, to be fair to Kim, most of the Roadblocks were physical things that Chip was better equipped to handle than Kim was. Since it’s a race, you want the fastest person to do the Roadblock, regardless of how many he’s done before.

I guess that kind of highlights my biggest dislike of TAR: I wish the tasks were less physically demanding, in general, to give the female teams a better shot. The Moms, for instance, basically got hosed by the rop-climbing Roadblock, which was unfortunate.

Here’s a link to TV Guide Online with an article about Chip and Kim, that elaborates on the whole Roadblock startegy and who they’ve been hanging out with from the show.

I realize this is a couple weeks late, but does anyone know where Trammell Crow Park is, site of the finish line? Looks like maybe northwest of downtown, but couldn’t find it on Google or Mapquest.

First hit on Google:

http://www.southfulton.org/news_tramel_crow_011403.htm

Trammell Crow Park is located at 4980 Cascade Road

Which shows that Google is not always your friend. That address is in Atlanta, not Dallas.

This [Trinity Commons Foundation newsletter](www.trinitycommonsfoundation.org/ TCNEWS_Summer%202002.pdf) (warning: PDF File) says:

Sylvan Ave crosses the Trinity River about 2 miles northwest of downtown Dallas, so it appears that your guess was correct, dqa.
